Good idea, taken from [livejournal.com profile] neeteeus:

After you go to Fahrenheit 9/11, keep your ticket stub and mail it to:

George W. Bush
1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Washington DC 20500

With a note attached: "I saw what you did last summer."

---

Annoying news:
Bush directs churches on how to get him re-elected. Quote:

The instruction sheet circulated by the Bush-Cheney campaign to religious volunteers lists 22 "duties" to be performed by specific dates. By July 31, for example, volunteers are to "send your Church Directory to your State Bush-Cheney '04 Headquarters or give [it] to a BC04 Field Rep" and "Talk to your Pastor about holding a Citizenship Sunday and Voter Registration Drive."

By Aug. 15, they are to "talk to your Church's seniors or 20-30 something group about Bush/Cheney '04" and "recruit 5 more people in your church to volunteer for the Bush Cheney campaign."

By Sept. 17, they are to host at least two campaign-related potluck dinners with church members, and in October they are to "finish calling all Pro-Bush members of your church," "finish distributing Voter Guides in your church" and place notices on church bulletin boards or in Sunday programs "about all Christian citizens needing to vote."

(End quote)

I was thinking about both that and this story in which some scientists use a scientific formula to predict a win for Bush, and I want to think: If Bush does happen to win, then fine. The people who vote for him will get what they deserve and have to suffer under him for four more years. But know what? They'd *like* that. They'd just love for women to lose the right to choose what happens to their bodies. They'd love for god/religion to be forced upon all kids in school. They'd be fine and dandy with removing "equal rights" from anyone they don't like or who doesn't believe as they do.

Bah. How can there be a chance for Bush to win? How in the world could that happen? (Damn you, Nader. If you don't get out of the race, I'm going to assume that you're actually working for Bush. Idiot.)

I just came back from handing out cards with our local Kerry org website URL and various contact info, and signing people up to help elect Kerry and local Democrats, in front of the theater where F9/11 is showing. After seeing it yesterday, we decided it would be wonderful to harness all that anger - and man, we sure got takers!

We have people organized to hand out cards after every showing. Yeah, the movie is preaching to the choir - but it's getting them motivated to DO SOMETHING.

And can I just say that I am astonished at how many people I've met through my Dem party work lately that voted for Nader last time and have been kicking themselves for the last 4 years?

Good! Maybe they'll make the better choice this time! Silly people...

Yeah, the movie is preaching to the choir - but it's getting them motivated to DO SOMETHING.

Exactly! Nothing wrong with preaching to the choir so long as it gets the choir into action!

*crosses fingers* We have to win this time!
