My plans to go after tougher monsters as a BST failed. Badly. In my very first attempt, I nearly died. Pet dead, my HP in the red, fighting a very healthy IT goblin... and a T goblin added on. Luckily a sheep popped, I charmed it (without checking it), and set it to fighting the IT goblin. Somehow I finished off the T goblin (me poisoned! With my HP in the red! No MP! And somehow I survived!). Once the T goblin was down, I con'ed the sheep I had charmed. IT. Thank god! The IT goblin was still beating it, so warily I entered the fight (HP in the red, low teens). I won, pet lived, I got 75-ish XP. Not a good trade off!
Lessons learned: 1) Bring antidotes, even though I now can rid myself of poison through WHM spell. My very low MP as BST = I may be in a situation where I cannot cast spells. 2) The logic of parties holds true when soloing: While 200 XP is nice, a steady stream of a smaller number with no downtime (and little risk of death!) is much, much better. (I knew that already, yeah. I just sometimes need a goblin to kick my ass and remind me.)
Tonight is fishing night (please please let me catch lots of fish! Need money!), Friday night is free at the moment (I'll work on BST unless current static wants to party in 30s or teens), and Saturday is rank 4 stuff with former static party. (Must get plans out of my head and onto "paper", otherwise I'll lose track of everything!)
