Eek! I had no idea I was three eps behind in FMA! Ack! I watched 41 before work this morning, and never have I so strongly considered calling in sick! My god! It looks like everyone is going to die! Gah! How can I not know what happens next, especially when I have the next ep already! Eek!

And *sniffle*, just when I decide that the Crimson Alchemist is one of the sexiest things on two legs, he's suddenly... not. I hope it isn't what it looks like, but it probably is. The packs of canine-ish chimera were cool as hell, too. And poor Al! I'm worried he's going to die. He knows too much... (I have 42 and 43 downloaded! Must Watch Soon!)

---

I've been thinking more and more about MUSHing lately, both the old RP and running the place. (*sniffle* I miss the RP more and more! Why is it all coming back to me? Old scenes playing out in my head again? Why the hell are characters waking up?! No no no! I thought you were all dead! I do not need to hear your voices again! It's over! Just... just... go back to sleep! It was better for all of us that way!)

Yesterday a connection hit me. Though players wanted otherwise, as a MUSH staff we never gave out much. We didn't ever give out super powerful things, and people had to work quite a bit for even the less powerful stuff. Why? Because we knew if they worked hard for something, they would value it more. The process of working for it would give them something to do on the MUSH, and once they had the thing, they'd want to stay on the game so that they could use/show off the item. ...so why did I expect FFXI to do otherwise? Now that I see the connection, I wonder how I ever missed it. They're running the darned game just like I ran the MUSH. It's the right thing to do. Making things so annoyingly hard to get makes it better. And so, while I'll still bitch and moan about the unfairness of it all, I wouldn't honestly want it to change.

I really, really want the leathercrafting apron, and won't it be better because I've worked so darned hard for it?

Non-meta: And speaking of leather! (Do I ever speak of anything else? :) ) I was useful last night! And it was great! Something I was worked towards happened:

CTY (my linkshell) goes out hunting rams. A lot. The problem is, the skins rams (and most any other monster) drop do not stack. One skin = one inventory slot. When rams also drop horns (worth 1,500 vs the skin's 400-500), it's not worth it to hold onto the skins. However! Ram leather is worth a whole lot more! (Leather = 1,500 a piece, *plus* it stacks! So one inventory slot = 12 pieces of leather = about 40,000!) So I went out to the hunting party and turned all their skins into leather! I just hung out there -- as they killed rams, they dropped off the skins to me. While I processed them, they went out and killed more! Perfect system! We ended up with over 4 stacks of leather, which means about 160,000 gil which would have otherwise been lost!

I'll never be a level 75 character. I'll never be able to clear scary dungeons of deadly monsters. But that doesn't mean I won't be useful! Not only can I tan the hides, I do it well. Between the trip out to the hunters and tanning ram hides for other LS people within the city, I did nothing but process ram skins for about five hours. Number of failed synths? Four (and only one with a lost skin). Number of HQ results? Countless. Easily over thirty.

And it's only going to get better from here. :)

Edit: Ack! Ack! My leather prices are off! A stack sells for 14K, not 40k! (I've been buying and working with coeurl leather, which is 40K a stack, so I got confused!)

I really appreciate your willingness to come out with us last night. I'm always torn on what to do with the hides >.<; I empty my pockets as much as I can knowing that they'll be quickly filled. You kept our pockets free so we didn't have to make repeated trips to Sandy to unload ^o^ Thank you!

No problem! So long as it's not a good fishing moon, I usually won't mind! :)

(And if you're looking at the money end of things, see the edit I made to the original post. My prices were off! My pretty little head got all confused with those big numbers!)

I'm not concerned about gil so much as not being wasteful! I'm a Mithra who hauls her junk around with her until she finds a nice Vendor or Auction House to offload at. Every little bit helps when you have a long ways to go x.x

Eek! I figured since it was weeks ago it'd be okay. Will do so!

1. I told you that you were behind on FMA!

2. I know what you mean about making it better when you have to earn something. I have a beta test account on WoW and it was too easy! Also, very annoying and repetetive. You know how some quests are dull things like "5 rabbit hides"? ALL their quests are either that or kill a large number of target mobs or a NM. BorING!

3. Isn't it cool to help your friends with crafting? I got such a huge kick of making insect paste at cost for my pals last time I was in Rabao with a big fishing party. Ack! And that reminds me, I MUST GO TO ALTEPA today. >_>

4. Tennis with me is Bring Your Own Angst. :)

1- You did! I should have listened! Gah!

2- Eee! Rabbit hides! *drool* ...wait, what were you saying?

3- Very! Yay!

4- Awwww. ;)

Kimbley? Sexy? Yeesh. Somehow, I suspect 'sallow, anemic sociopath what explodes children' isn't quite my type.

But he's exciting! And so totally insane! And the way he grins! And his hair is rather interesting, too.

Grar. You need to catch up, so I can use spoilery bits in my replies.

Eee! I hope that means what looks like happened to him in #41 didn't! (I intend to catch up this weekend!)

Don't worry...42 is the last episode of this particular FMA Killfest, and 43 starts to turn things around into a more 'woo' mode. It involves Col. Mustang and Company, as well as various other bits that don't involve everyone dying.
