Well, someone caught half of them before I got there! When I went to EB Games to get my FFXI expansion pack today, I picked up the new pokemon game. Unfortunately all the Red copies were sold out! I debated for only a moment, then got the Green one. (If I left the store without the game in hand, I likely never would have gotten it. I wouldn't have made the trip just for it.) So sadly, I won't get to use Growlithe (and I would never want to use a Ninetales because it reminds me of something), I'm sure I'll still enjoy the game.

Even before I stopped eating meat, I hated fish. The smell of it makes me gag. Unfortunately someone here at work keeps having it for lunch and smells up the whole place with it. It's all I can do not to vomit into my wastepaper basket.

I watched some (series? mini-movie?) last night on ABC. Lost. Part one was last night, part two is next week. I've not enjoyed something on TV that much in a long time! Really well made (you could see the money they must have poured into it), and a story type I love: Plane crashes on an island. Are the survivors alone? No, there's something there with them. They handle it really well by not showing us what that something is. Can't wait for next week!

I watched FMA #47 this morning, which means I have one more to watch before I'm caught up. As with watching Naruto yesterday morning, I was struck by how good the music is! Why is it that American shows suck so badly next to anime? I almost want to ask "why don't more Americans watch anime?", but there's no point in that. You have to think when watching many anime series, and often you have to read subtitles! Gasp! Who would want to do that when Home Improvement, Friends, or America's Funniest Home Videos is on? Bah.

In general, life is going well. I have a week of vacation the first week in October. I wonder if there will be any movies out I want to see? (I've not seen a movie in the theaters since HP PoA. If nothing else, I miss the popcorn!)

Of course you should like Lost. And it's a series, not a mini. And besides which, Harold Perrineau is in it. You know. The wheelchair-bound narrator of Oz? He looks completely different in this show, though. He's the guy with the quiet son.

It appears as though we have similar taste in live action. But, I'm sorry to tell you this, but I can't stand anime. Or anime emoticons. Those just drive me up the wall. I want an emotional connection and something good to look at, not just something good to look at.

Which is why the only real anime that I've liked is Akira, Miyazaki's stuff, and Ninja Scroll. I absolutely loathe Ghost in the Shell and Ranma. I'm really looking forward to Steamboy.

Ack! I never would have guessed it! I need to take a closer look at him next time!

Agreed on the emoticons. I dislike them all, but I toss them in now and then to try to keep from looking harsher than I intend to.

In my opinion, there much, much more to connect emotionally to in anime than on most Western TV. Of course there are some series which are just "fluff", but the deep, quality stuff outnumbers it.

Personally, I get ill from the smell of "butter-flavor topping" applied to theater popcorn, as well as many popular home-oriented products. Every so often, someone at work microwaves artifically-flavored popcorn, and I need to make sure the door to the kitchen is closed.

I can definitely relate to what you're talking about, even though meat and fish are sources of happiness to me.

Eek, that's too bad! I love love love the fake butter smell! But I suppose it works out, you can eat all the fish, and I'll eat all the popcorn! :)

You wouldn't believe the number of anti-anime threads I run into around BBSes. And 95% of them point at Yu-Gi-Oh and DBZ as ambassadors of the genre. Makes me want to beat them with a blunt sword. But then again, I could count the number of anime I've watched on two hands, so all I can do is squawk at them for overgeneralizing. Pet peeves are fun.

You wouldn't happen to still have the links to a subbed Kiki's Delivery Service, would you? :)

Not offhand, but I know they're floating around here and there. Do you use Bit Torrent? It's the best way to find anime.

Good luck!

Bit Torrent -- that's what it's called! I couldn't remember what the program was for the life of me. Well, that'll make the search much easier.

Thanks!

1. FMA is up to 49

2. Lost is from JJ Abrams, the creator of Alias. Therefore, it must be checked out! Thanks for mentioning it, I meant to watch it. *will watch this weekend*

Also you are a big meanie because Vulpix/Ninetails is the essence of incendiary cuteness. *huggles his KFC Vulpix beanie baby*

Poke me on FFXI sometime and I'll explain it to you. I don't want to do it here, in Google-searchable comments.

Hm, I think I set my journal to *not* be indexable... ;)

In general, I don't mind Google indexing my journal. I talk about a bunch of stuff and sometimes give links that people find helpful. The problem is that sometimes I post too many different things in one post, and only want to keep a bit of it private! You should be able to friends lock a LJ-cut!

I just watched 48 this morning, then I spotted 49! *sub* It's like they're trying to keep me from catching up! ;)

Yes, check it out! I bet you'll like it.

Whooo, spooky!

Wow, good show. *shudders*

I'd bet you that they're lost in the Bermuda Triangle, but I think the odds on that are about 1:1. ;)
