Standing behind what you believe
Oct. 11th, 2004 03:30 pmFrom a news story out today. Quotes:
The Bush administration plans to delay major assaults on rebel-held cities in Iraq until after U.S. elections in November, say administration officials...
"When this election's over, you'll see us move very vigorously," said one senior administration official involved in strategic planning...
"Once you're past the election, it changes the political ramifications" of a large-scale offensive, the official said.
(End quotes.)
If this is what he believes is the right thing to do, why try to "hide" the truth of it now? If he believes he's doing the right thing, why wait to continue doing it until after the election? What other reason than to save his own ass?
Bah.
