Becoming one with the undead... (FFXI)

I'm thinking I'm going to try going to Eldieme Necropolis tonight and doing the gloves AF. I want to get it out of the way and stop having it hanging over my head. I've been reading as much as I could about it today, but it's oddly hard to find good/useful info. :/

Is this correct? As far as I can tell, I'll need only sneak... unless I run into a bomb. Then I'll need to have powders (since they're both sight and magic aggro). Nothing else is sight aggro there? (I'll go as DRK/WHM, to save oils.)

I still haven't found out much about the doors/switches (like, positions of them would be useful... silly map-makers!), but I'll go as far as I can go tonight. If nothing else, I'll at least be able to get more of a feel for the place.

Unfortunately, for EN, you're going to need a buddy. Otherwise, you get caught behind a set of doors so that you can't get to the coffers. The ideal way is for you to go through to where the coffers are, and someone who gets very little aggro or is damn good avoiding it to open the switches for you. I don't know if you've gone down to where Lich C. Magnus is located, but that's the best area to find coffers.

There are some folks that are real champs at avoiding the bombs... I wish I could say I was one. ._.;

I don't think so. Only place I've been was where we went when we were trying to get paper for Ceh and I.

Oh but bomb dodging is so much fun!
The trick is to not cast any spells when it is on your side of the tombstone where you can see it. Also, if you're staying as far back as possible then there's no need to worry about sight aggro (it runs around in a circle so it shouldn't look your way at all). If you're still feeling insecure then just keep stoneskin/blink up and warp/escape at the ready =)

You can technically camp the few coffer spawns pass one door (just like the GC one behind the 3rd gate), but it's a lot faster to have someone waiting at the switch for you.

Since I'm a MNK the map to EN was tattooed upon my back as a form of endurance training (and so I wouldn't get lost when it was time to go visit dem bones). Erm... Anyhow, I can be your switch buddy if you need one. I'm pretty familiar with the zone and can hit switches without catching aggro.
