Bleach is eating my brain. (Bleach = a new anime series, for those not in the know.) I'm loving it in the same way I loved FMA. It's got that amazing mix of so totally dramatic with a few fall-down funny bits. I swear, I love nearly every character from the main guy to the most minor ones (I love the boy with the broom! But the girl with the broom is the only one I don't totally love). I love the art. I love the music. And my god, the story is just so good! I love it all!

I'm up to ep 18 now (the end of the big fight... gah!), and I have up to 24 downloaded. I don't know what I'll do once I catch up with the releases -- I'm used to watching a couple a day! (I usually was even able to sneak in an ep while my mother was here!) I'm just worried how long (or rather: short) the series will be. I'm sure someone out there knows? :)

Even though I've been watching anime for a couple years now, I still have trouble wrapping my head around the idea of the writers/producers/creators knowing right from the start how many eps the series will have. Around here if a series was popular they'd just keep padding it out until it fell out of grace. On one hand, I think it's really cool and admirable that they stick to the story they set out to do, but on the other I hate that the series I love all end! Though I suppose we've seen what happens when a popular series doesn't end... *cough*PoT*cough*

FFXI: It's kind of funny. The whole week I was away away I was itching so badly to play, then when I finally play what do I do? The same old boring stuff I've been doing all along. I tried farming but there were too many people out and it sucked so I moved to a new area to farm for less $$$ things... but that was crowded as well so I got pissed and just totally stopped farming. So what did I do then? Made bolts. Thousands and thousands of bolts. For hours on end. *dies* Yay wanting to rush back for that?

The big mission (5-1) that was supposed to happen tonight fell through because of a lack of communication (No worries! <3 ), but I got a group together for a G2 run tomorrow. I think this was my first time organizing a group thing! Eee! It was kind of odd: I asked and people, like, actually listened to me! And said yes! I was sort of expecting them to all laugh, pat me on the head, then shoo me off to go sit in a corner while the grown ups talked. :P

So I must set alarm tonight to make sure I get up early enough for that tomorrow. (Alarm on a Saturday morning isn't as bad as it seems, since I need to try to get my sleep schedule readjusted to work hours. Bah!)

And now: More Bleach!

P.S.: It's hard to get used to using different icons again! I think this might not be a new one, but it still fits. Yay Bleach!

Pretty long, I'd say. The manga's closing in on two hundred chapters soon and shows no sign of stopping, so there's plenty of material for the anime right now. Not counting filler eps, of course. (I know you don't read manga all that much, but really, the Bleach manga is worth it. Viz did a decent job for once and I'm buying all the volumes I can when I can afford it.)

Huh! Maybe I will have to check it out then. And yay for lots of material! I was worried they'd end the series with Rukia being saved. Yay!

Am hooked on Bleach myself.
Did initially watch it from the beginning, but then my favorite fansub group started lagging behind, and so did I.

Then a week or so ago, my little brother (who is confined to dial-up) asked me to download all the latest episodes for him, so I did.. and now I'm watching Lunar's sub myself.. it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

They still have some issues such as thinking "shutup" is a word.. but I'm not even finding errors in every episode, let alone multiple flaws. For a speedsub group, they are excellent. Still not as good as Keep, though. Which translation are you watching?

Even though it wasn't my first time watching it, I still cried when Rukia left.
Need to get more Bleach icons.. I only have this one. ^_^

Keep is the one I watch. Typos and misspellings throw me out of the mood of the ep too much, so I wait for the "good" group to do it. :)

I know! I stopped watching it after about 3 episodes when it first came out, but I thought I'd give it another try about 10 episodes in, and ended up watching the rest of those episodes in one night. They get the mix of the dramatic and epic with the absolutely ridiculous perfectly! I see it as something of both an ode to and a sendup of all of the other fighting series that it was probably based on.

We have just downloaded the first five eps of Bleach. Hopefully we can watch them soon ^ ^
We got really high up there with PoT, and actually watched a few the other night. So far, everything seems to lead up to the big championship. I assumed it would end when they won or lost. Yes? It keeps going?
I think, and this is just my opinon, that having a certain amount of eps and then stopping is like a really really great book. It ends on a dramatic note and you LOVE the story but mourn the end of the book. I think that's a good thing, even if it is torturous.

Hee, that just about sums up the whole series. :P A continual building up towards a big championship... then do it all again! Yes. I believe the whole series ends with that, but I've not bothered to watch it yet so I'm not sure.

I haven't seen any of the anime, but I adore the manga. It's really, really fun and definitely one of my favorite series. What makes it for me, I think, is that the supporting characters, not just the main ones, are interesting and funny. (I think I almost died laughing at a scene where Ichigo and some of his classmates are looking at test results. Ichigo's pretty darned smart, apparently. ^_~)

I've seen a few series which were based on manga that ran for a very long time (Hikaru no Go, Fruits Basket, Yakitate!! Japan), and the thing that really impressed me about some of those is that the anime producers knew when to stop. (Well, then there was the New Year's Special for Hikaru no Go, which just made it rubbish.) I suppose there's not so much of a problem with that for series that aren't based on manga, since the story's just been written to be 13/26/however many episodes long, and often there's not much to add.

Though I suppose we've seen what happens when a popular series doesn't end...

I do have a request, to change the subject somewhat - I've got an interview at a computer game company this week, and they've asked me to bring along samples of my creative writing. I mentioned the time I'd spent as a helpstaffer on PokeMUSH in my application, and I wondered if you minded me showing them two examples of things I wrote for the MUSH - the Chickpea and Chucken details, and the TP I wrote for my staff application. If you'd rather I not use these, I understand, as they're presumably property of the MUSH. Otherwise, thanks anyway, especially since I never thought I'd be able to cite staffing on the MUSH on a CV. ^_^
