I don't like to admit that I spend time on Neopets. Despite some adults playing it, it really does come off as a (very grammatically challenged) site for kids. But for those times I need to kill time at work, it fills the bill. But my real enjoyment on the site? Finding wacky items with creative descriptions.

Examples:

Iced Fish Cake: A large fish cake coated in extra sweet strawberry icing. Yum?

Hot Worm Hot Dog: A thick, juicy worm wrapped between a hot dog bun, smothered in tomato sauce.

- Bacon and Eggs Ice Cream

And one of my new favorites:

Dung Cream Sandwich: Well I guess you have to do something with all the dung!

Well, I guess you do. :P

---

In other news: So tire. So very very tired. Got >5 hours of sleep for the second night in a row, and for the second night the few hours I got were broken and filled with nightmares. Silly spirit, getting all renewed by my vacation! You need to re-accept how much work sucks! Just get over that and we'll get through our 9 hours a day here and that'll be that!

I'm strongly suspecting that our company is going to shut down or go bankrupt or something like that. All of our top people keep leaving. They all give the same reasons (They want the challenge of joining a start-up! They're all still fully confident in [our company]!), but they're all jumping ship. Maybe we're not going to shut down. Maybe it's just that we've only gotten ONE RAISE in FIVE YEARS and the top people got their salaries cut on top of that. Maybe it's that soon they're going to cut all of our salaries further and make us earn that back (if we can). Who knows! (And yes, yes, I should have long since quit as well, but finding a new job would be annoying. Perhaps even more annoying than staying here.)

I grabbed an egg sandwich for breakfast this morning, and boy was it good! Mmmm. I've not had one in like 3-4 weeks, and it was just so totally yummy. It's nice to be really full and really satisfied! Yummy egg protein, perhaps I should make you at home sometime. If only eggs weren't icky...

And on the subject of eggs (and the ickiness at eating them), we have a bird's nest in our car port! (I guess that's what you call a garage with no walls, right?) The nest is really low and so interesting to see. The two birds are such good parents! I think the chicks have hatched, because sometimes I hear the cutest little peepings.

See my new icon? The wonderful (and violent!) [livejournal.com profile] loneguardian made it for me! Yay! I'll try to use it on all of my FFXI postings, which will make it easier for those uninterested to skip them.

I like the new icon. :)

Perhaps you could try an egg substitute like Better'n'Eggs or Egg Beaters? The nice thing about both of them is that they can be frozen. One cool trick I came up with is to buy a package or two of the 'individual serving sized' cups (each cup is the equivalent of two eggs) and stick them in the freezer. They'll keep for a long time that way. Whenever I want eggs (like on a weekend), I'll take one or two cups out of the freezer 24 hours beforehand and stick them in the fridge to thaw then use them the next morning to make scrambled eggs or an omelet or frittata.

I've started leaning on them more doing Weight Watchers, too, because they're lower in calories and fat than real eggs.

Thanks! I like the icon a lot, too. :)

I guess if they're egg "substitutes" they're not real egg then? Odd, I didn't think eggs were something someone could fake! But if that's the case, that might be the perfect solution! Then I could eat them and not feel bad. (Yay!) And freezing them would be so handy! I never use things up before they go bad...

Woo, thanks!

*googles and hits the Egg Beaters website* Ah, they are actually eggs still, just the white part. Oh well! Good thought anyway. :)

Er?

I perhaps misunderstood why the objection to eggs in the first place. Why would the egg substitute, if it is made from egg whites, not work?

Oh, just because it's an egg (because of what it is, not health/fat/calorie reasons). Came from inside a chicken. That's not too too different from meat, really. (Though they don't kill the birds at the time, so that's a little better I guess.) Unfortunately milk is about the same as eggs too, so I'm not sure why the idea of milk bothers me less than the idea of eggs...

If I ate more veggies, I'd probably drop dairy and eggs altogether. That's just not really a good option yet.

I really really hope you actually bother to eat protein from SOME source, be it eggs/milk/cheese/meat or pills or drinks. X3 Crazy person.

Peanut butter! And yep, at the moment I eat dairy nearly every day.

People don't really need much (women, unless you're a body builder or something like that, need only about 50g per day! And one slice of quality bread has over 10g!). It's not at all hard to get enough protein. Most people (especially Americans) eat way, way, way too much of it.

*snug* Thanks for worrying! :)

>Most people (especially Americans) eat way, way, way too much of it.<

That is SO TRUE. And it just amuses me because people are always worried that they're not getting enough and that's just ridiculous, considering there are some people who get enough protein for an entire day just from breakfast. xD;; If only people worried that they're not getting enough whole grains like they do about protein, I think we'd all be much healthier and better off.

Heehee, yep! And fruits and veggies, too! (Mind you, I'm standing in a glass house as I say that. :P Must eat more veggies!)

I'm in the same place. I would totally eat more veggies if I knew how to make them taste better! I can only tolerate so much raw veggies before getting tired of them, and I'm an awful cook, so my options seem so limited. I don't have problems eating fruit though, or whole grains actually. xD

They also sell cartons of what are basically pre-beaten eggs, if you want yolks included but don't want to mess with them yourself. And there's no need to feel bad...Meat generally requires the death of the animal, while eggs are essentially just chicken menses. Chickens are gonna shoot them out anyway, might as well not waste them.

Oh thanks. Now they seem a whole lot less icky to me. :P

But seriously, I understand your point. Thanks!
