FFXI: Screenshots like this one depress the heck out of me. But then it got worse! I googled "FFXI packet sniffer" and got tons of results. Mining bots, crafting bots, provoking bots... sheesh.

I know bots and cheating are nothing new, but... wow. So depressing. I'm so glad that I generally do things that don't bring me into direct competition with others, because I'd lose for sure.

Non-FFXI: The news is so educational! Today I learned that women, much like bees, get angry when poked! No wait, that's not right. It's more like: Never piss off a mob of women holding curling irons!

Note to anyone on my flist planning a crime: As tempting as she may appear, if you're going to rob someone don't pick this woman:

RE: Beauty School Robbery: OMFG that rules! I love it when the criminal gets what's coming. I mean they're usually about as smart as a bag of hammers anyway, but to see them beat down by their potential victims? Priceless.

RE: Packet Sniffers for FFXI: OMFG that blows! I hope the GMs are given tools to track such thing and autonuke the people using them. There is no legitimate reason why anyone that is a player should need to do such a thing on the game. None. Well, unless they used it to track bots. :) BOTKILLER! That would be legit, well, just anyway...still a hack. But it would be justice to smite the infidel bots.

RE: Packetsniffers: Nope, GMs don't seem to care. 9.9 As long as the person is at the computer while the thing's running, they don't lift a bloody finger. Been that way for -ages- now.

That sort of accuracy is enough to make widescan @ 75th level Ranger look about as impressive as an attack with a single strand of silk thread. :(

I hate that these asshats can get away with such crap with impunity. Hell, I know...I'll hire a real hacker to sniff the sniffers and packet bomb them with a DDOS attack. Yeah. :)

The funny thing is, that is exactly how Beauty Schools are. Mine was tough like that too. Felt a little like prison, actually LOL
Also, most students have little money on them. Little old ladies come to get their hair done and pay three dollars for it, then tip you 50 cents. That guy didn't know what he was getting into.
