thistlechaser | A rec! Or two! (FFXI)

Aw man, I can't concentrate on reading. Page 513 of HBP, but I keep stopping to do other stuff. It's a good story and all, but... I want my FFXI! Stupid downtime (but yay upgrades!).

Rec #1: I don't follow many webcomics. Okay, I don't follow any webcomics anymore. But if I were to follow one, I'd want a hand-drawn series with good artwork. With that in mind, you'd think I'd strongly dislike Easy Prey (

easypreyffxi). Oh, it's pretty enough to look at, but there's not one single thing drawn! But then I read one of the strips, and I laughed out loud. In fact, I laughed loudly enough that I worried my neighbors might hear me. I read another strip, and once more I couldn't stop myself from laughing. The third strip was just as good. :) (There are only three thus far, the series just started.)

I mean god! Look at this one! FFXi meets office humor! GMs in cubes! I'm still giggling over it!

And look! Look! Look! The DRK character is ME! Eeee! Strip titled "Trains". Merrkitty and Nif should love this one!

Since I linked to the first two, I might as well the third, too. The humor in "Barrel of Luck" didn't work for me as well as the others, but the whole FFXI-meets-the-office thing had me rolling! I mean look at it! A RDM in AF doing office work! *dies more*

Rec #2: Though this may sound like an odd thing to recommend, if you haven't tried it yet, I'd suggest checking out the third FFXI demo/benchmark. Gah! Such nice graphics and glimpses of the storyline! And I some CoP spoilers, but mostly for things that are already public knowledge. Both benchmarks (2 and 3) are so cute! Armies of Taru SMN in 2 and BSTs in #3. So much fun! I wonder if demo/benchmark #1 is still floating around somewhere... Anyway, these are a nice little fix if you're missing the game.

Back to reading! And trying to get the darned upgrade to start downloading...
