I can't believe it's only Wednesday. Tomorrow should so be Friday. Can't deal with stress anymore. *pulls out hair* Very annoying when FFXI doubles or triples my stress.

Non-stress-FFXI stuff: I shot almost 500 bolts today (5 stacks of 99 -- easy to count), only one per kill. (And some kills got no shots.) So yeah, a crapload of farming. Filled my bag to 60 twice. And every bolt I shot, I grumbled in my head at Beanie. :P (Okay, not every single one, but I did think of her a lot! And the answer remains the same: No no no! ;) )

This may just be my most favorite FFXI screenshot ever. Dark crystal synths are pretty, HQ ones are better, and casting the purple light onto black armor? *drool* I've not been tempted to post a full sized screenshot in a long time (I figure most people would have to scroll to see the whole thing, and that takes away from images), but on this one I was tempted. I may just make it my new wallpaper here or at work.

Grumble at me all you want, but you know what I'm saying is true. Imagine that power that you have now, only *more* powerful 'cause you'll have the RACC and RATT behind it :3 You enjoy one-shotting smaller critters, how about one-shotting bigger critters. How about *slugshotting* even bigger critters?

For giggles, here's me doing the same thing (http://www.centragarden.net/temp/war-beanie.jpg). I think Mithra got the better end of the deal on "coolness" for how the WS looks.

But the best part of it all? Shikaree Aketon (level 50) looks just like War Aketon, so you don't have to wait 'til 70s to look that hot! :3 Plus, of course, you get a gun. The one I've used here is a Musketter's Gun, which is standard issue for any Ranger's pack ^^

Ooooh, that's the war stuff? Heehee, I always thought that was kind of... um. Yucky looking. :P All the gold and purple poluting the black? A hat with a feather in it? Not for me! (It does look much better on female models than it does male though. It's just too... frilly for guys to be wearing!)

But armor aside, it looks like our static is going to have five weeks of downtime (*clutches his chest and falls over dead* Nooooooo!), so I'm thinking about maybe leveling RNG a bit. It'd give me something to do with my NPC, if nothing else! :)

*drool* Guns! And I do wonder why I want a gun so badly in the game, when RL I'd rather not even see one, let alone touch one... (But then, I suppose I don't want to kill beautiful cats with a scythe in RL either.)

Setting that aside, War gear is RNG / THF JSE (just like Noct is at level 30). The only pieces RNG are really interested in, though, are the hat and the pants. Just think, you could wear a hat you made yourself at that level :D You made mine~ You'll wear the RNG body forever and ever (it really does have awesome stats). Same with the boots unless you bought Strider Boots (only Loth has that sort of gil to throw around). For the head slot, your options are the green beret, the war beret, or an optical hat. And berets are nice :E Weirdo!

As for 5 weeks off, ouch x.x I've done long stretches like that before while waiting for MNK and RNG and was usually stir crazy by the end. Working on another job in the meantime isn't a bad idea. It's during downtime that I usually got things done like leveling my subjob or leveling alternative subs that I might need (like /RDM for MNK).

I'm not sure if I'll take RNG to 30, but it's possible! (And why, oh why, have you tempted me into this? :) ) And yes, five weeks will be hard, especially when DRK is the only job I like. But one member is moving and losing access, and another will be gone many random weekends in that time, so...

But just think how many coeurls and dhalmels I'll be able to kill in five weeks of non-stop farming! :P

You were ignoring the voice in the back of your head, all I did was poke you to stop ignoring it. The awesome thing about RNG is that you can get to 25 pretty easily by soloing if you're careful and patient. The worms in the maze are awesome for this. Then you can move along to Qufim worms, then back to the maze to do Abyss worms :3 And by the time you're 'jungle-ready', the jungle is actually cake as RNG.

That's prettiful... I like how all the synths look, except for earth which hates my graphics card and ice which looks like it's breaking everytime.

Yeah, isn't that horrible? I used to do lots of ice synths in leather, and that always freaked me out in the beginning.
