I'm a real RNG now! (FFXI)

While home for lunch I spent 50K for +2 racc (feather collar +1). :/ Three things made me feel a little better about wasting money like that:

1) I can sell it back on the AH at the same price. Hopefully.
2) I can't hit the &R*#$@!) side of a barn, so maybe this will help.
3) Spending that much money for something so small is something a real RNG would do~!

I wanted to make the title of this post "*shoots Beanie for tempting him with RNG*", but if I shot at Beanie I'd just miss, then the joke would be on me.

But other than not being able to hit (*rips hair out*), I sort of like the job. And if anyone says "But you're DRK main! You should be used to missing a lot!" I'll switch to DRK and kick your ass. And no, I won't miss. I missed one single WS in ten levels of XPing. Top that.

Soloing is slow and boring through, so I'd really like to get to the Dunes (*gag* Did I say that?). But I'd like to hit 15 before I go there so that I can chocobo. I hate aggro-dodging, and the Dunes are a long, long run from Sandy.

I tested out my new bow at lunchtime. It hits a lot harder, but I swear it misses a lot more (ironic, since it has +2 racc on it). After work I'm going to test the waters in LTP and see if I can solo there yet. EPs are fast to kill, but 15-35 XP a kill is slooooooooow. Heck, maybe I can get a little LTP party going. (Note to self: If you lose your TP once more because you're standing too far away when you WS, I'll beat you.)

Other than to find Toto for a quick ride home, I've really not been using widescan yet. I suspect it'll be handier in parties than soloing (other than to avoid aggro stuff).

In my little dream world I would get either RNG or THF up to 60 or so and sub the other one (THF/RNG must be the best farming combo there is, followed by RNG/THF), but I doubt that'll happen, well, ever.

Yeah, I had the same problem. Rng just sucks for accuracy until the mid-late twenties. Then you get a shitload of gear options that change that drastically. >.< I used food to help compensate, but expect it.

I decided I should switch my food as well, but I logged myself off out in the wilds before coming back to work, so unless I die or make the trip back, I'll be using the old food today. Hopefully once I switch it will be better.

It's nice that I can make so much of the gear I'll need, too. And ammo...

If you get to 15...don't bother with the lolDUNES, go to Korrolka Tunnel. Rangers are gods there. Worms are very tasty, and can't chase you. You can experiment with the 'sweet spot' until you find it. :) If you want a party there, let me know and I'll bring MNK and be the one up in the worms' faces for ya. Or if you're a ways away from 15 still, I'll level WAR and tank that way. What level is your RGR right now anyway? I'm WAR 11, MNK 15, and THF 15 (Ick, blech, pooey). :)

My RNG is 12 at the moment, but hopefully will be 13 after tonight. What job do you want to do? If it's MNK/THF, I hopefully should be close to 15 soon! Maybe we can party then? And I guess Korrolka is easier to get to than the Dunes, too!

I was planning to try and level BLM tonight, but I can just as easily level WAR, it isn't like it is that hard to do, and I could use the silk thread. :)

Korrolka is a LOT easier to get to than the Dunes, well...no, not really. You have the outpost there, right? So it is a snap to get there, just might have to MGS past some gobbies to get back to Selbina. ;) But yeah, Korrolka rules. :) Much love for the tunnel; that was actually the first place I partied I think, with all LS folks. :) That was fun.

If you'd rather wait for 15, I'm cool with that, or I can drag out my WAR gear and see what damage I can do to get my Great Axe up. :)

Actually, there are only four clams in the whole place. But they're big! Bigger than me! (They're for that around-the-world ring quest).

The lose TP thing *is* so very irksome, but you'll eventually get a feel for how close you need to be. And Ail is right about the Worms. Worms are love for a low level RNG 'cause you can stand at max range and they won't chase you around and hamper your damage output. If you can, try the boneline arrows. They have Racc+5 on the arrow and that helps some as well.

And you couldn't hit me anyways; I have shadows ;3

Or Fang Arrows since someone I know, *cough*cough*ME*cough* has like 12 stacks of them that have been returned from the AH since I leveled on them. :)

Level 15 Item, 15 damage, delay 90, +5 Ranged Accuracy. :)
