RL and FFXI (Mostly FFXI, I cut all the political stuff out.)

Yesterday was a day of ups and down. Had a nice visit with tersa, but damned FFXI went down and so I couldn't show off the game to her (she was going to watch our weekly Escort run). Then the day got worse: When the game finally came up, our makeshift XP party got together, but nothing went right. Damned worthless Alla was wrong (Shock! Amazing! Who'd have thunk it!), so a recommended XP place was totally wrong for us. That was highly sad, as I really really wanted to try XPing in Carpenters' Landing. We finally ended up in Bubu and got 30-60 XP per kill. Sometimes we chained to 100! On Friday we had gotten four levels in less than three hours. But Saturday? I didn't even get one level in 3.5 hours of XPing. At level 18, that seriously sucks. (The only good part of it was that it was a mostly LS group, so the people were fun and not pissed at me.) Poor Draque got one-shot'ed by a pug, though. Bah.



Every now and then something happens that makes me really really miss MUSHing. loneguardian got a new mule, so we RPed on the LS for a while. (As much as one can RP with poses of a sentence or two long...). It was amazingly fun. :)

Today wasn't anything special on game. Got a whole lot of stuff done that had to be done, but nothing really fun. New moon hit early in the morning, so I did a crapload of crafting that was waiting for me. Then I farmed some (but not enough). Then our weekly LS EcoWarrior (fun, but the fights are over way too fast -- can't enjoy them when I only get a swing or two in). And that'll be about it for the day. I have a few hours left tonight, but no will at all to get anything done on the game.

I wish wish wish wish I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow, other than I'll get to continue reading gbeans's FF fic story.

Bah, that sucks. If you want I'll type up a quick guide with some extra resources to help check if an area is the right one for your group.

Thanks, but I wouldn't want to make you go through the work. :) While I had done some scouting of the area (as level 1 to see what links/aggros) I now see that I left out a really big step: I should have gone in as level 18 and conned things myself instead of blindly trusting that Where To Level thread on Alla.
