Heeheehee...zzzzzz

I'm a rather boring person. I don't do drugs, I've only drank alcohol a couple times in my whole life (and not usually by choice, a sip at wedding toasts and such). Earlier today I was so tired that everything was funny and I was bouncing off walls. Totally not logical at all. (Thought process: It's Monday, isn't that funny? Heehee, it's so funny that you think that's funny! *snickers out loud* But you think it's funny that you think it's funny that... where was I? *tries not to laugh out loud over the whole thing*)
I wonder if that's what being drunk (or perhaps high) is like. It wasn't such a bad thing, other than making it hard to work. ("No, no, can't pounce the co-workers. Save it for being online at lunchtime!") I spent the whole morning grinning from ear to ear, but couldn't tell people why ("Well, um, I'm making up all these stories in my head and they're real funny! Heeheehee!")
About an hour ago I crashed, and now I feel like poo. There's no use trying to take a nap when I get home from work, because I cannot sleep during the day, period. Haven't napped in a decade or so. (Other than when I'm sick as a dog, but that doesn't count.) Problem is, I can't concentrate on anything, so even if I wanted to do something online it likely wouldn't get done.
Blah. Hopefully tonight I'll sleep better, but if patterns hold I won't sleep well till Thursday. :/
Thistle-Fact Of The Day: I cannot spell "alcohol". I can't spell it so much that when I try to look it up, it takes me seven or eight tries for the spellchecker to even make guesses at what I was attempting to spell. Silly vowels in strange places...

Date: 2005-09-13 02:16 am (UTC)Heehee, that fact is a good thing to remember! In high school we red a short story about some bandit who robbed a church or something at the edge of the desert. Instead of sending the robber off with water as he demanded, they sent him off with wine. Hee.

Date: 2005-09-12 11:37 pm (UTC)My new sleeping drugs are funny too.. They make me hallucinate. Nothing serious, just shapes twisting and such. Makes it really hard to read before falling asleep. :P
(but they don't stop me from waking up 2-5 times during the night, so they are essentially useless - even if I do fall asleep easier initially)

Date: 2005-09-13 01:45 am (UTC)I've never been high on drugs (except if you count super powerful painkillers or cough syurps, both for medical reasons), or drunk enough pass out (Alcohol makes me sleepy, so I tend to fall asleep before I fall over unconscious).
IMO alcohol are best used in chemical experiments >>; they makes things so clean and dry XD

Date: 2005-09-13 05:43 am (UTC)I have been the latter once in my life, and dammit, that was enough. There are large gaps in my memory, and it was quite disturbing when I recall that I was blind drunk. Literally. I was so drunk I couldn't see. I had to navigate my friend's house by touch. That's not fun at all.
But for what I think being drunk is? Imagine you've been on a boat. You feel fine. You've got your sea legs. As far as you know, you're fine. Then you step on dry land and nearly fall over for no apparent reason. That's kinda what being drunk is like for me. Except I also turn touchy-feely, happy to dance, very chatty, and depending on the amount of alcohol there's usually a conversation about sex thrown in for good measure.
Or I wind up coming onto someone. But that only happened twice! Never ever happens usually.
*coughs* Moving on.
I don't think that not drinking makes a person boring. I don't think that alcohol should be a requirement for enjoyment. Anyone who goes out of an evening with the intent on getting drunk is rather sad, IMO. What sort of life is that? I do support drinking socially, since that is the environment in which I do it, but in spite of the reputation Brits have for being drunkards (we're not all like that, honest), I have friends who categorically don't drink. And yet we all go down to the pub and have a good time.
I suppose that's the difference between needing alcohol to have a good time, and having a good time while having a couple of drinks.

Note to self: When we finally have a LS RL get-together, get Cehra drunk.
;)

When I went to Argentina I tried the local brew once at 10am. At dinner they commented on how "perky" and "smiley" I was. I didn't sleep till 2am.
I don't drink alcohol or do drugs for religious reasons, but I suspect that's my personal preference as well.
