Silly posting at night, I should be in bed! But we were up late on the game and I have a ton of screenshots, so might as well post them now, right? :P

And speaking of habits which need to be broken, I died not just once tonight, but twice! But I'm pretty sure we still came out ahead on XP, so it's fine. More than fine, actually. The second wipe showed just what a good group of mature, talented players can do: With undead on one side of us and fomor on the other, we recovered from a full wipe and got two parties out of there. (Non-players: Both undead and fomor (which are sort of undead) do something called "blood aggro". If your HP is low, they'll attack you. They "smell" the blood on you.) Both undead and fomor kept coming within aggro range (and we had lots of fomor hate by that point) so it's especially impressive. /praise to Chip, Nif, and Draque, our uber-mages! And to everyone else for listening, not panicking, and working together!

So, um, yeah, what we were doing to get into that situation: Some work on the CoP mission. We needed two coral keys and ended up with what, six? Plus got that other key we needed, too. :)

And even more importantly:

Hellloooo panties! My old friend!

Not only did those panties drop, we got two more pairs! Three DRK panties and only one other from all the other jobs. S-E all but announced on a loud speaker "WE WANT THISTLE IN PANTIES, DAMMIT!" Heeheehee. :) Congrats to zubis and gbeans for getting the other two pairs. ;)

Screenshots!

* Fomor Thief I took lots of screenshots of the fomor, but few came out well. This one features a "fruity elf" fomor THF. Elves hold their weapons very oddly. (And isn't that a 2 handed sword he's holding? What's he doing with a shield, too?)

* One of the most evil looking mobs in the game. I, um, don't know exactly what their called. Lich I thought, but we ran into other mobs called Lich, so it can't be that. Alas I didn't get charmed, but he was still fun to kill! (Non-players: This family of mobs can charm PCs and make them attack their party. It's fun!)

* You see dead people~. Our first (almost) wipe. I'm still a little confused about how this happened, but somehow a bat got attacked while we were fighting the NM. Amazingly, other than gbeans (who somehow lived!), I was the last person to die! In your face, DRK DEF! Beanie and I killed the NM together before I fell. :)

* Death #2... a trail of bodies! How many things killed us? Let me count the ways... Two different undeads and two fomor! (One popped in camp while we were fighting the other (I think), then we moved a little and got blood aggro? It's rather foggy.) I like how there's a line of bodies though, heehee.

* Another "cool monster" shot. We killed a bunch of these. I'd love to have one as a pet~! (Heehee, so tired, getting silly...)

Lastly, allow me to do a little "dickwaggling". (Non-players: Showing off your damage, equipment, etc is usually taken to mean a teenage boy needs to show off how big his "e-penis" is.)

I also Guillotine'd once with LR for 950+ and once "plain" for 900+, but unless it breaks 1K damage, it's not worth commenting on. :P Niala and Chip were nice and didn't let me die, no matter how hard I tried to!

The mob type is called Corse. All of them are capable of charming the PC, which can make them very dangerous 9.9;

I think the bats got hit with Sleepga when Chipo was trying to sleep a Charmed Niala. That's what I think happened, but I could very well be wrong.

I survived the bats 'cause I hadn't attacked any of them and they're usually non-aggro. I just kept my paws off after Keremet was dead and they went away. Remember: "I am a tree. I am a tree." kekekeke~

I didn't hit any of the bats either, and I'm pretty sure Thistle didn't either, but they still came after me for some reason ; ; Maybe because you were standing back for your ranged attacks? :x Bats like the kitty!

Hmm.. maybe. Dunno. The other thing that might play in my favor (though I'm grasping at straws) is that I have some -ENM on my RNG gear ^^; [shrugs] I also have Alertness and Stealth, which is part of how I was dodging around those fomor without aggroing it. (That and I think the "grace period" window was still open from when it spawned. It's doesn't matter on that if the mobs are linking 'cause when the link comes through the grace is usually over... but non-linking are my friend o.ob )

I saw two times where a fomor spawned right as you were nearly on the popping spot. My heart skipped a beat both times, even though you had to have been firmly in that window.

But, you see, that's a fun part of Ranger :D You just kind of learn about the grace window and when you can pass through it still. And realizing that you can actually stand a lot closer to mobs and not be detected than most other people XD; I've ran circles around ghosts before while another puller (a THF) didn't dare 'cause it would aggro him. I was probably pissing him off o.o He kept checking me over and over and over again every time I ran around the ghost and grabbed another crab for our party XD Kuftal is so much fun for that :3

The most fun part is watching your party freak when you're doing things like that. They'll be like "oh noes! don't do that! you're going to get aggro!" and you don't, you bring the mob back. Then you repeat that again on every pull with them telling you to be careful o.ob

Eh, the darned auto-targeting thingie got me. As the NM was falling, I was looking around trying to figure out what the heck was happening with the bats, and I swung before I saw that my target had locked on to one. :/

Ooooh. You know, I do recall that being cast, and I wondered about it for less than a second (ending with "it's a mage-thing, I'm sure they know what they're doing") before going back to thinking about my own job in the party. :P

Just to stand up for Chipo here. He did cast Sleepga, but when he checked the logs afterwards he said he hadn't actually hit any of the bats. So we still don't know what happened.

But I know we aren't looking to point fingers here so I'm not about to launch an investigation into the matter. :)

Just thought I'd stand up for my taru, since he honestly thought he had been the cause and decided to announce that it was his fault before he actually checked if it was his fault.

Oh, yes, not trying to place any blame! For sure! I heard Draque say multiple times "Let me die", so maybe he did something? (Or thought he did.) I'm not even terribly curious as to what happened, "something" is good enough for me. You guys are such good players that little things like this are rare enough to not worry about! :)

I'm more sad that I hadn't gotten charmed. That would have been so funny!

Yar, no one's pointing fingers anyway, it's fine, mistakes happen, and we got the key and no exp loss for the day, so it's all good. ;3 *luffs you and Chipo* D did say his target skipped off you, probably when you got charmed, and probably landed on a bat, so maybe that's what happened? Stupid bats. :E

No blame, don't mistake it for that ^^ Just curiosity. Then again, the bats whacked Nif after he Reraised and hate should have been erased off him. I dunno if any of them were binded, that would have caused the random "hit anything in range" behavior. They were just acting odd entirely.

Then again... Keremet was tossing -ga around. I blame the bats on it o.ob
