thistlechaser: (FFXI)

I deleted the depressing post (or rather, made private -- but same difference to you all!) and instead here's a "wish list" of stuff I could use in FFXI.

I have no clue on the prices of most of this yet. I'll check once I get home.

Back
Psilos Mantle: Def: 6, Accuracy: 1, Attack: 12, Ranged Accuracy: 1, Ranged Attack: 12.
Level to Use: 69 (75 ENM - Holy Cow) -- 700K

Forager's Mantle: Def: 7, STR: 3, Attack: 15
Level to Use: 71 (75 ENM - Brothers / 75 ENM - Sheep in Antlion's Clothing) -- 3.5M

Body

Vampire Cloak: Def: 65
Daytime: Adds Regen Effect / Nighttime: Adds Refresh Effect
Level to Use: 70 (I can get this easily, once I'm closer to 70. "Cheap" at AH. Good for farming.) 150K-200K.

Adaman Hauberk (rare/ex): Def: 53, STR: 10, DEX: 10, Accuracy: 15, Attack: 15, Evasion: -10
Level to Use: 73
Erm. Needs a drop off Nidhogg and smithing 96 (with key item) to make it. Not holding my breath that I'll ever get this.

Ear

*** Merman's Earring: Attack: 6, Evasion: -4, Magic Damage Taken: -2%
Level to Use: 63
(This one is both do-able and in range of me actually needing it. HQ of Coral Earring (one less attack, one more -eva, 1% magic. About 1M on non-Midgar servers. Will check into it tonight!) -- 800K

Fenrir's Earring (rare/ex) Daytime: Attack: 10 / Nighttime: Ranged Attack: 10
Level to Use: 70
(Note sure about this. I'd have to beat Fenrir and it'd be a pain in the butt to switch it based on time of day.)

Rings
By the time I'm in my Thick items, I'll have enough +acc to get rid of one or both of my sniper's (I think). I'll switch out for one/two of these as level allows.

Ruby Ring (HQ: Vulcan's Ring) (72) STR: 4 Vs. Fire: 9 -- 120K
Flame Ring (HQ: Triumph Ring/Triumph Ring +1) (74) Def: 3 STR: 5 INT: 2 MND: -2 -- 2.9M

Hands
Tarasque Mitts +1 Def: 8 CHR: -6 Vs. Fire: 6 Attack: 12
Level to use: 70 -- 1.8M-2M
I'm not totally sure about these. My Thick Mufflers +1 are Def:16/Acc:3/Att:4/Eva:-2. I'd gain 8 att, but lose 8 def and 3 acc (and -2 eva). Adaman Mufflers would also rock, but there's that whole "insane smithing, key item, NM drop" thing.

Head
Celata +1: Def: 23, Accuracy: 3, Attack: 5, Evasion: -2
Level to Use: 68
Not too sure about this one. Currently I have Valkyrie's Mask (Def:16/MP:10/Att:7), so I'd lose 2 att, 10 MP, and gain 3 acc and -2 eva. Plus hopefully I'll have my o-hat at 70. Might pass on this one...
Edit: Yeah, going to pass on this one.

Legs
Dusk Trousers: Def: 47, HP: 35, Attack: 14, Movement Speed: -1, Ranged Accuracy: 10
Level to Use: 72 -- 5M and rising
Little to no hope on a HQ of this one. Uses Behemoth Leather, so might be $$$$. I'd have to take off my pants every time I wanted to go somewhere, but hey, that's bonus, right? :P

Waist
Venturer's Belt: Def: 5, HP: 12, Attack: 5, Ranged Attack: 5
Level to Use: 71 -- 1.5M, 1 ever sold

Warwolf Belt: Def: 6, STR: 5, DEX: 5, VIT: 5, Enmity: 3
Level to Use: 71 -- 25K

Venturer's is the better of the two, but I'm not sure of replacing my Life Belt (+10 acc).

Weapon

While there are a few good (rare as heck) scythes out there, I'll probably stick with:
Death Scythe +1: Dmg: 98 Dly: 513 Additional Effect: HP Drain -- 4M
Level to use: 73

Edit: Prices added.

Lothiriel can make merman's earrings. I'm not sure how often she HQs them but I know she does. :3

Good idea, I'll poke her and see if she has any or will hold onto some and poke me if she HQs.

*steals list* that looks decent enough :P

Though i think i'd want something different than fenrir's earring (the night time ranged acc = :/ maybe once i get up to that high i'll actually be using ranged attacks.

and would probably keep the life belt too :p

"decent enough" Ha! :P That's the best I can do, within reason! (HQ Dusk Trousers probably aren't reasonable.) Kids these days... ;) :)

and would probably keep the life belt too :p

Yeah, I'm pondering that. The Thick pieces all have ACC on them (+2-3 each piece), so that's a lot of ACC...

I've already learned the most valuable lesson with drk. you can never get enough +acc stuff :P

Very true! :D

As a matter of curiosity, why the Venturer's Belt? The only thing I see on it that is "important" and that you can't really get anywhere else (though you could with other items) is the RATT+5. Why not go with a Swordbelt +1 or a Vanguard Belt if you're looking for something to increase your damage dealing? o.o Increasing STR is a win o.ob

Hm. I only compared the items to what I was currently using (or higher), not lower level stuff. Venturer's belt has the +5 attack over my current life belt, but you're right, I could probably get that from a lower level item. Hmmmm.

Thanks!

Minor nitpicking..

Ruby Ring (HQ: Vulcan's Ring) (72) STR: 4 Vs. Fire: 9 -- 120K
Flame Ring (HQ: Triumph Ring/Triumph Ring +1) (74) Def: 3 STR: 5 INT: 2 MND: -2 -- 2.9M

You have the HQ versions of those rings backwards. Triumph Ring/Triumph Ring+1 is the HQ1 and HQ2 of a Ruby Ring, and Vulcan's Ring is the HQ1 of a Flame Ring. Also, Vulcan's Ring does not exist, it's in the coding but not actually in the game. HQ1 of a Flame Ring still only yields a Flame Ring, and that goes the same for all of the level 74 elemental rings.

Oops, I knew I hadn't been clear on how I wrote that section up. That's what I meant! :)

Ah, that part I hadn't known though! Thanks!
