I usually avoid memes like the plague, but this one both amuses me and is accurate:
And yeah, I didn't cut it. It's not large and has no image. "distressed" is a funny word, and the sentence "thistle_chaser is distressed." makes me giggle more than I probably should. Plus the whole "Why don't you at least make up a happy story for once. Your friends would appreciate that." ... dude! The meme's being snarky at me! :D (Not to mention, that was my actual line of thought yesterday. I wrote up an "I'm depressed" post and then deleted it a few minutes later because I didn't want to depress my friends, too. :P )
But who am I to disobey a meme? Here's a happy story for you! It's partially true, too!
So I was out walking this morning (because exercise is good for you!), I spotted one of those scratch-off lottery cards in a bush. I snickered at my hopes that it might be unscratched or a winner, but still I stopped and picked it up. It was indeed unscratched! So I whipped out a coin, scratched where instructed and... gasp! It was a winning card! And not just a few thousand dollars, either! Thirteen million! I went in to work, quit my job, and lived happily ever after!
(Okay, so only the first sentence or so was true. I did spot one of those scratch-off lottery cards in a bush, but I didn't stop to check it. It was dirty and bent and looked like it had been floating in a puddle for a while. But fantasies of those thirteen million kept me smiling through the rest of my walk!)
Oh, and man! I'm looking forward to going home and making dinner tonight! (And I don't cook, so I almost never say that!) I have some tomato sauce from my favorite pizza place (their sauce rocks!), and I'm going to take one of my fake chicken patties, put the sauce on it, then put pizza cheese on it and broil it up! I'll have chicken ("chicken") parmesan for the first time in years! I'm drooling already, I hope it turns out as well as I think it will. Mmmmmm.

| If it's not one thing, it's another. Your life is a pitiful wreck, and it's all you ever write about. Why don't you at least make up a happy story for once. Your friends would appreciate that. |

3. Mmm, I never thought of doing that with a fake chicken patty, but I certainly will now. What a great idea!

Date: 2005-09-28 05:29 pm (UTC)2) I wish it were true, too! I know I'd get bored quickly without a job, but I'm sure I could fill the time somehow! Rolling in all that cash, perhaps?
3) Yay! Hope it comes out well for you! And for me, too! :D

...right?
Err, my lack of a life aside, that chicken parmesan idea sounds delicious. I wish I could make some of my own, but there's nothing to make it with. Ah well. I'll have money this week so I just might see how good of one Subway can make.
