Check this post out: It's really, really long, but scroll to the end and check out the screenshots. If you don't want to read all the text (which I'd suggest not, it's full of kids being stupid, calling people they don't like "nigger", etc), the point of the story is: HNM LS drama, two former friends getting access to one "friend's" accounts, cleaned it out. That friend got revenge on one of the two former friends by accessing his account and doing what you see in those screenshots.

I'm laughing and wincing at the same time. These silly little teenage boys throwing fits at each other, "hacking" each other, back-stabbing each other... and losing millions of gil in the process.

Edit: Eh, the site is slow or down. Direct links to the screenshots:

It always amuses me to see people give out account information. I remember doing the Sacrarium mission with another LS - one person had fallen asleep so another person in the LS logged in as him to continue.

I don't trust anyone with my account information, so I don't really have sympathy for people who give their information to people they don't know.

Same thing. I wouldn't give my best friend my account information, let alone anyone else. If I had a roommate, I would /not/ have my login information saved, I'd type it in each time. People are crazy to trust others with stuff like that...

A big old 'Word' to that, except I'm more boggled by the abject stupidity than amused by it. Double Yew Tea Eff, mate.

I gaped over that when I saw it on the message boards. @.@ I mean, hell... people are so stupid. I have given out my account info, but it's Ailuren (Who I've been with over 15 years now..) and Philia - both of which I KNOW are trustworthy. Still, I suppose people would call me stupid for letting anyone have it at all, but really.. I've known these two for many years outside of the game. I'm not about to give my account info to anyone else. c.c

You know, if you didn't share it with Ai, I suppose I'd have to be worried about you guys. :P "I love you! I'll sleep with you! But keep your dirty paws off my FFXI account!"

Beyond Ai, I'd personally trust you to know who to trust and who not to. It's not like you're a teenager with no sense of people... :)

Actually...I don't have D's information, btw. :) Though I guess since the credit card paying for everything is mine...

*GRIN* SO totally kidding! . o O (I'm doomed!)

But seriously...D also knows where I sleep, has keys, hell...has the keys to the freakin' car...etc. :) AND my account info is saved in the login window. :)

Exactly. If you two can't trust each other, then you have bigger problems than potenital loss of in-game items. :P

This is stupidity and ignorance of an apocalyptic scale. NONE of the people involved are worth the south bound ejections from a northbound Ra. I mean...

The 'Hero' of the story:
Ignorant ass who repeatedly uses 'nigger', and rape.
Ignorant ass who gave out his account information.
Ignorant ass who planned to engage in RMT.
Ignorant ass who made creepy stalker type phone calls.
Ignorant ass who hacked the account(s) of his former friends.

The Villains:
Morons who logged into ignorant ass's account and stole his stuff.
Morons who kept a ton of it, sold the rest.
Morons who made it easy for the ignorant ass to hack them.

The Payoff:
Ignorant Ass dropped stolen goods AND non-stolen goods just to be a spiteful prick; thus sunk to their level.

This entire incident makes me want to vomit. :) They all deserved each other, frankly. :) It is just to dump the stolen items, but the other stuff was just spite.

*snugs* Thanks for posting this. :)

Exactly! All of them deserved what they got. I'm just happy that I'll likely never run into any of them...

*snugs back!*

Ha ha! I love it when bad things happen to bad people.

The whole thing makes me so much less eager to get into the HNM scene. XD

My LS shares account info alot, those retards are nothing the same IMO.
We all are so close, have each other adresses, phone numbers, etc. There's a chance that someone might steal money or money items, but dropping ra/ex gear is just childish. If we didn't share accounts like we do people would miss getting ra/ex drops from work etc, so why would someone drop them?
Like you said they are just ignorant children, but saying you wouldn't even give your roommate your account is sad to me, where's the benefit of the doubt to your friends? This Bama guy makes out like they were best friends forever, but as you read the thread you can see they were fighting over and all manipulated by, some "chick", who was probably a guy in RL anyway. Those people just fail at life, period.

where's the benefit of the doubt to your friends?

But those guys had been friends too.

My trust has been betrayed by a "best friend" (a friend for years, someone I thought I could trust with anything) twice now (two different "best friend" type friends). How's that saying go? "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." You're free to trust anyone you like, but it can happen. "Friend" doesn't mean it won't; "best friend" doesn't, either. It's pretty sad, but true.

And yeah, dropping all that rare/ex stuff was just spiteful. They all deserve each other.

[snorts] Amateurs. I think if I was in their shoes, I'd hack into the account, sell everything, and give the money away to random people who didn't know me. Then I'd get the account frozen.

Then again, I'm not an asshole, nor am I that petty. (fighting over a girl they knew online. Hilarious!)
