RL then FFXI then WoW at the end

Now and then I try to do my duty to the general public and post helpful stuff. Today we shall cover sexual harassment!
This, boys and girls, is sexual harassment! (Work safe picture.) And believe it or not, those are both guys in that image. (The boss's expression in the first frame makes me snicker endlessly!)
This is also sexual harassment. (NOT work safe. Not graphic, but men-bits are shown as a small part of the picture.)
So remember kids, if your boss does that to you, be sure to report it to your HR department!

FFXI: In the continuing tale of "Let's expose Thistle to scary strangers!" (...ha ha, exposing Thistle to people! SexHara2.jpg here we come~!), I seek'ed a random party last night.
Our hero (that's me!) logged on, put up his flag, wrote a spiffy search comment, and waited. Within minutes he got an invite! 'Oh this random party thing isn't so bad!' he thought to himself.
The leader asked "Can you go /THF?"
Thistle, thinking to himself 'Since "SJ = THF" is in my search comment...', replied, "Sure thing!"
The leader /telled, "The SC will be blah blah -> blah blah, is that okay with you?"
Thistle, nearly bouncing in his chair, said, "Sure thing! Anything you like, so long as I don't have to pull!"
Then the leader made the Sound Of Doom, "Uhhhh."
Bah. So no party invite for our hero. An hour passes. Another DRK 62 starts to seek, gets invited. Thistle grows depressed and annoyed. Longing for WoW starts. As hour two passes, he decides to make dinner. "If I don't get an invite before the oven beeps, I'm gone!"
"Beep beep!" went the oven.
"..." went all in-game communications.
Thistle dragged himself to the oven and removed his pizza. "Oh well, I can level on WoW at least," and returned to the computer to log off. But what did he find waiting for him? A /tell inviting him to a party!
"Sure thing!" Thistle agreed, hurrying off to the location. "On my way!"
And what was that party waiting for him? The same one who had invited and then dropped him two hours earlier. ...ha ha...
The XP wasn't very good (about 3K in 2 hours with Empress Band in effect), but between that and nearly 2K from Eco/Escort scrolls, Thistle leveled up to DRK 63! He put on his new earring (which was more a status piece than worth the increased stats) and the bomb core which he had been dreaming about using for months.
The End!
Ha ha, okay that got long for what little info it conveyed. :P The party was okay. The leader was ... um. "Annoying" could be the kindest thing I could say about him. (At one point he said "did you guys just fuck off on the idea of SCing at all?" And we were like "Uh, we've been SCing for many fights now....") We had an outstanding JP RDM (I could have kissed him! He kept me refreshed (and I think hasted, someone was hasting me and we had no WHM...) the entire time!), but unfortunately the other members (all NAs) were totally ignoring the poor JP guy, not using the auto-translator, just outright ignoring him when he said he was leaving soon, etc. So I talked to him and stuff and tried to keep him happy. The replacement RDM wasn't as good (why do I have to ask to be refreshed? You see I have MP, right? You see it goes down during fights, right? You see I have to sit, thus lose TP, right? Why not refresh the DRK?), but no one in the party was horrible.
As an amusing plus side, I was the first tank for a few fights. 9.9 For some reason the SAM/THF didn't want the tank to provoke until we SCed (he wasn't SA/TA'ing off him, so I have no idea why). So, since if we all just hit and no one provokes I get hate, I kept tanking. But I got a couple levels of evasion and I didn't die! Wheeee!
I'll probably seek again tonight, even though seeking is one of the most depressing things I've ever done. It feels like sitting at home on a Friday night waiting for your friends to call you and go out and do something... yet no one calls. Ever. No one wants you (why would they?), and the phone stays silent. (I know that's not an accurate comparison, but that's how it feels.)
---
After wrapping up on FFXI I went to play WoW, but I spent the whole time trying to get darned plug-ins working and didn't play at all. I finally got extra buttons (though on the side of the windows and not the bottom...) but I couldn't get other things working (like effect timers and ... well, and everything else.)

Date: 2005-10-26 05:07 pm (UTC)The funny thing is, those images come from some 70s porn movie. (Straight Men Who Really Want It, or something like that.) So the fact that he doesn't look like he minds it is just really bad porn-acting! *snicker*
Yeah..I shouldn't be clicking on the second picture during work but oh well.
When looking at the images at home, I missed the penises (penii!) for a moment. I don't think it's that NWS, but I put the warning there to be on the safe side.

Date: 2005-10-26 05:10 pm (UTC)That seems like a good policy to me. I even told the second RDM "I understand that I'll be behind the mages and the PLD, but please? Now and then? When you can spare one?". I don't need the first one, I don't need my MP to be at 100% before every fight, but I do need some MP or I'm gonna sit.
So finally this second (NA) RDM starts refreshing me, so I'd /joy or /dance at him every time. Eventually he says something like "Doesn't take much to make you happy, does it?" And so I... hit on him. :P "It's your AF, I can't help myself! *swoon*" /dance /grin.
The whole party went c.c at me. *snicker*

Date: 2005-10-26 10:06 pm (UTC)Oh I think you can manage :P
It's true though. This far in the game people will have an idea of what kind of skill level they are looking for. After you've partied a few times, and this if especially true if you have a regular time/day you level ong, people will remember you and look you up when forming parties.
