thistlechaser: (Confused)

I stayed up late last night trying to finish my current book (Buick 8, by King). Lost an hour and a half of too little sleep, plus didn't even reach the end. Woke up early this morning with "stomach problems".

Six hours of sleep in a normal night minus an hour and a half of extra reading minus a half-hour lost in the morning equals four hours of sleep.

Four hours of sleep.

And we're continuing to do this monotonous-as-hell work at work (going on four weeks now!). My eyelids refuse to stay open.

What I want to know is, how can anyone who actually works a full time job get eight hours of sleep? I work 8-5, get home by 5:15. I usually get up at 6:30 AM. If I wanted to get eight hours, I'd have to be *asleep* by 10:30 at night. This means being off the computer and heading towards bed by 9:30-10 PM. Who in the world goes to bed at 10 PM? I already have too few non-work hours to myself, am I really going to give up a handful of them to sleep?

I'd rather have to fight to keep from falling asleep at my desk...
