The Forgotten City - Tavnazian Safehold

Man, somehow they actually made the Tavnazian music even sadder than it is in the game. *sniffle* Reminds me of all those sad stories there. [livejournal.com profile] pomr and Zee-whose-LJ-name-I-forgot: You two are going to love the storylines there! Enjoy them! They're some of the best stories in the game, in my opinion.

Bathed in Her Glorious Light - The Grand Duchy of Jeuno theme is just sort of freaky. Sounds like an old religious song. o.O Really feaky, but sort of fitting. But mostly just freaky. But I like it, anyway.

I think I'm going to order the whole album, which can be found here. (Edit: Did order it, along with the CoP soundtrack.)

The plan for the week:

Tonight through Friday: Working on leveling, even though I don't really want to. Farming while seeking, since I need money.

Saturday: Trying to level GS more. (Bah.)

Sunday: O-Hat run (yay!) and trying to level GS.

I'll be really happy once I have ~30 more levels of GS and can start using it in exp parties and leveling it that way...

And man, this Jeuno song is odd. Nice but... odd.

Everyone loves that song, but I dislike it because it's one of the saddest things I've ever heard. :/ Makes me think of dead kitties and starving puppies and all that bad stuff! I always turn off my speakers while chocoboing through that zone.

I love sad music, and Zi'Tah's one of my favorite tracks in the game. Does that make me weird? ^_~

And to add: eeeeeee, Tavnasia. *_*v I'll definately try and grab the mp3s when home; I have the original music already *hugs her cds*, and while I've heard mixed reviews of the Star Onion's work previously, I'm curious to see how they sound now.

You know, I actually found it on iTunes. I may just download it, as I have very little self-restraint when it comes to game soundtracks, and this is a heck of a lot cheaper than importing the CD. ^_~

However, I am going to check the track listing very carefully before I do. I got the FFX-2 sountrack of iTunes and it turned out to *not* have two tracks on it. And they were the two that I really wanted. (I'm wondering if it was a licensing thing, as the iTunes version of the soundtrack had the English versions of the vocal songs.) Still, I'm very disappointed. (Though I wonder if it's possible to put MP3s and iTunes tracks on the same CD and get a regular CD player to play it.)

"off iTunes." Not "of iTunes." Sorry.

Oh, I live in a cave, I never used that I-Tunes thing. (Though in my own defense, I almost never listen to music. I buy a CD and it sits unopened for months then maybe I listen to it once before putting it away somewhere. I actually have CDs I asked for last Christmas that I haven't opened yet. Heh.)

I have an iPod Shuffle. It's nice for listening to music at night to help me get to sleep, or for taking on trips.

And because I am a horrible, horrible geek, I have christened it iZaku, after my Windurstian taru storage mule Izaku. ;p (It's cute, it's little, and it stashes stuff for me!)

Zi'Tah wasn't very good, and Jeuno made me want to smash kittens. Awakening, however... was pretty amazing.

Vana'diel March and Tavnazian Safehold were very good, but that goes without saying because they're completely piano-based. ;3 Actually... everything on the album is good 'cept for Metalworks (way off from the original I feel... too trippy) and Jeuno (gospel... I'm usually okay with it but it just doesn't suit the Jeuno atmosphere very well).

Jeuno (gospel... I'm usually okay with it but it just doesn't suit the Jeuno atmosphere very well).

I'm still sort of boggling over that. Gospel is an interesting choice, but so... odd. And yeah, didn't fit Jeuno at all. (I could almost see something rap-ish or hip-hop-ish working, something "Big City".)

With the church in the zone and many of Upper Jeuno's quests being related to religion, I think it suits Upper Jeuno.

There is 100,000,000x better religious music than Gospel (which completely blows IMO). For a city as "majestic" as "The grand dutchy of Jeuno" something religious in the vein of Bach, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven would have been the way to go. When people were saying how awesome this song was I was thinking 'Beethoven - 9th Symphony' awesome... not "Welcome the Creekbush revival" sucky...

and all I have to say is 'amen' for that ^^

I couldn't stand it... I'm a music snob... It comes from marrying into a family of classical violinists...

I mostly just pay my Rhapsody subscription, and stream everything. I'm rarely away from a computer when listening to music anymore...
