Tired but not sleepy (FFXI)

thistlechaserAfter another rough start to the day (darned losing power for hours and hours), I finally got electricity back, got online, and got a party! Another good high-rank people one. Hit RDM 41! Got refresh! Yay! Once it broke I went off to solo my AF weapon! :D
I went as DRK, but spent half of the fight scratching my head and wondering what exactly I could be doing. :P I've not played the job in ages, so basically I just hit it to death. Wasn't a hard fight, he got me down about 200 HP at one point and I said 'Hmm, hey wait! DRK gets drain, too!' *drain* *HP jumps back to full*
I thought his name was Purplehand? Orcs have funny names. But that's a fun shot because it looks like I'm holding my sword's point under his chin. Rarr!
Finding the storage hole after beating the NM was a pain in the butt. I feel sorry for anyone doing that as their 40-something RDM character. I had to run all across the whole zone (including areas were orcs were still EP to me at 72) twice, before finding it.
After that I got my fortune told by the NPCs:
*boggle* I wish that really applied to something instead of just (probably) being random! I've not heard of anyone who has gotten that good of a fortune!
Then later I got a second party, which was more challenging than any thus far. Mostly Japanese, but highly nice even though we had a little trouble communicating. Only the one or two other NA players were asshats. What is it with WHMs who won't haste? Won't poisona? Won't cure? I can't do the first two, and if I do the third then what the heck are you going to do? Two WHMs in a row like that, so when the second left without notice or finding a replacement, I offered to switch to /WHM and main heal. (I wouldn't have offered if the party hadn't been nice and all the other NA people were making English speakers look so so so bad.) Turned out it was a bitch of a plan: We were fighting flies and crawlers. Way too many AoE poison and AoE big damage for my MP to keep up with (at least with a PLD tank. A NIN tank is no problem at all for me to main heal). But I tried and they seemed happy!
Convert is such a fun tool. I know this will sound odd, but balancing my MP is sort of like a dance. There's a flow to it. Refresh, cookies, convert, all these different options. Lots of fun, but more than that it feels so powerful. :D
During my frantic healing, someone /tell'ed me an offer:
I can seriously say it's not for sale at any price. :) I worked so hard to get enough money for it, and it was the first big thing I really, really wanted for DRK. I remember camping the AH for weeks to get it and all the HQ Thick stuff I have. And it's mine, all mine!
No clue what I'm doing tomorrow. RDM is at 43 now, and I can only take it to 44 or 45 before I need to stop and level BLM more. *sigh* I hate BLM so much.
