*refresh*refresh*refresh*refresh* (FFXI mostly)

The non-FFXI part of the day was quite nice: Didn't lose electricity at any point in the last 24 hours, the SciFi channel did a Stargate:SG1 marathon (which isn't as rocking as SG:A, but the early eps were lots of fun), and I actually ate two out of three meals!

FFXI wasn't as fun. Not terrible, but not fun. I hit RDM45, but it was in the sort of party I was warned about. PLD, WHM, BLM, MNK, BST, me (RDM). Four people needed refreshing, so I refreshed. And refreshed. And refreshed. That's all I did, for hours. Now and then I tossed out a cure when the WHM couldn't keep up with the Taru PLD, but mostly I just refreshed. So very, very, very boring. All I did was refresh and sit (why was I the only person who needed both refresh and cookies to keep my MP at only 50-75%, but everyone else stayed way higher than me with just refresh?). I had a '/p {convert} (call)' line in my macro to warn people, but for some reason the puller ignored it and kept pulling right as I started. So at the beginning of the fight I had to cure III myself three times in a row... which of course got me hate. *sigh*

Hmmm, maybe I'm over-refreshing? I kept everyone refreshed 100% of the time (other than we got a link or some other emergency). It seemed to me that keeping refresh on anyone with MP would be the best thing? Or do RDMs let them fall a little and then refresh?

After that was the weekly LS Eco and Escort. Got about 1,500 XP for DRK from it. Just 17 more weeks of that to level! Bah.

Then I got an odd, odd /tell:


I was on my DRK (72) job at the time. What's wrong with that picture?

1) How much love do DRKs get in HNM LSs? How did that comment go? 'They're even more useless than MNKs, because MNKs can at least Chi Blast'?
2) Isn't 72 a tad low for a HNM LS?
3) Dude, you /checked me before asking. See my LS name? Is it one of the HNM LSs on the server? If you're interested in joining one, don't you think you should know the names of them?

You can super cure yourself even during a fight as long as you haven't interacted with the mob, or with anyone who has.
For high MP use jobs I recast asap, for DRK and um.. rarely BRD I don't. >_>

Oh, duh, I should have remembered that. If a refresh wore off while I was curing myself, I tossed it out to keep the timer right, which would be why I got the hate. Sheesh, silly me!

Resting while someone in your party has a mob will get you hate too. I've died many times in Dynamis because of that. >.

I've seen that, yeah. Our (resting) over-nuking BLM kept getting hit by the puller's newly-gotten mob. It made me laugh, as I figured the mobs had all heard about how sucky he was with hate!
