Crawling slowly towards 74! (TV and FFXI)

Okay, if someone had told me that Dancing With The Stars could actually be an interesting show to watch, I would have laughed at them. But it is! The music is fun, the dancers are at least good (not perfect, but hey), and the "stars" are amusingly not-stars-anymore. They've even got someone from a boy band, which is really funny. :P
FFXI: Slowly, slowly I crawl towards 74, but I'm making forward progress! And that makes me so so so happy!
Partied in the Meadows (off birds only, no rams), 3 hours = 5K XP (with band). Sucky XP? Maybe, but to me any XP is good XP! The birds were really too high for us though (71-73 party). The fights lasted long enough for me to WS two or more often three times per battle. o.O The party had a couple deaths, but luckily not me (though it was close at one point, when my TA wasn't lined up right and the PLD couldn't pull aggro off me for half the fight).
I spent a couple hours before getting the invite trying to buy Balmung back. No luck... but that turns out to be fine. I totally forgot about my scythe (I forget about that darned thing all the time, haven't used it in weeks!). My old scythe (V's Scythe) also had 5 acc on it, and I lost that when I switched to Death Scythe. So what's the point in getting my 5 acc back on my GS when that won't help when I use my scythe? So tonight I decided to test sushi:
I ate sole sushi at the beginning of the party, and seemed to miss a lot less than yesterday. Not as good as previously, but not embarrassing. When the food wore, I battled for a while without it, to get a "control" sample. I seemed to miss more, but not by a lot. Once I was satisfied, I went to eat more sushi... only to find I had the whole stack left. By mistake I ate a chiefkabob! Heehee. So with no acc food (and with what must have been much tougher mobs than last night) I missed less than last night. Odd! I missed more than makes me happy, but not so much that I felt I was embarrassing DRKs everywhere.
Amusingly, you can buy 52 stacks of NQ sole sushi for the price of Balmung. I'm not sure how long that many stacks would last, but hopefully it's still a good bargain.
I'm nearly halfway to 74! Woo! I can't wait to hit 75 and be DONE! Done done done! Half of me wants to get a nice big buffer once I hit 75, then give Dynamis another try, but half of me wants to put DRK aside and never touch it again. I have no clue what I'll do at that point though... (I keep joking to myself that the prize for "winning" the game (hitting 75) is getting to quit the game. :P )

Date: 2006-01-13 01:35 pm (UTC)...Will you marry me?
No, wait. I'm already engaged. Um. Hmmmmm. Let's see... oh! Right.
I have a dream!
Or an idea, rather.
MUSH clients and AIM don't work on my computer, but LJ or email or Google Chat or whatever does. I'm bored as all crap at work half the time. I'm s'posed to look busy. Which gets boring. I'm also dying for RP again. So here's my thought: You wouldn't wanna do post-format RP with me via LJ or email or something, would you? It'd be slow, but at least it'd be flexible and give us something to do.
Lemme know if you're interested! I'll be around all day. Between doing bitchwork, of course. But today'll probably be slow, so...

Date: 2006-01-13 04:54 pm (UTC)I guess the main things we need to decide are: Which would be easiest, email or LJ? What theme we wanna do?
My personal thought would be looking at this as sort of a collaborative short story thing. One person set the scene, then next person add on, and so forth. No need to really come up with a single, fully detailed character, we'll just sort of write in people as we need to. If that makes sense.
In short: Very simple. Just for fun. Any theme, we don't gotta stick with it for long-term. I just need something to DO at work. -_-

Date: 2006-01-13 10:27 pm (UTC)On the other hand, a new American Idol will be starting soon. That should be entertaining!

Date: 2006-01-13 10:46 pm (UTC)The Swan was another story. It was like they used all this money to make up people who had bigger problems than just their looks. That they were saying "if you're not ugly, you'll never have a care in the world", which is utter bullshit. Beauty doesn't make you happy because it's subjective (with weight, there's a point where it's not so subjective-i.e 'morbid obesity'-so there's another point for TBL). You may be treated better, but you won't always feel good about yourself because of it.
As for American Idol, I'm looking forward to it. I just hope we don't get another Carrie Underwood, though. I really can't stand country.

Date: 2006-01-13 10:50 pm (UTC)My problem with it, is that they're making a show out of it (duh). But as much as I'm sad with the makers of the show, I'm sad for the people who would want to be involved. It's their lives (of course), so they can make any decisions they want, but the whole situation just seems so depressing to me. Sort of like if they took a bunch of handicaped people and made a game show about them trying to learn to get around in the world. (Just my opinion on it.)

Heck yeah.
