thistlechaserTonight was going to be my "night off" on FFXI -- no leveling, just "fun" stuff. I ran around and got the rest of my avatars, called them all out and let them each kill a bunnie in the newbie zone... then got bored. :P I couldn't figure out anything else I wanted to do, so I put my RDM flag up.
That turned out to be a really good thing. I got a party invite right away (for QSC! A new place finally! Yay!) and the party just totally rocked. I had worked with the JP NIN tank (Rey) before, and he was really good. The other two DDs were /NIN, so didn't need much healing. (With a SMN as a main healer, her avatar buffs did most of the work.) And the BLM almost didn't overnuke at all! (Though he did use AM now and then... and promptly died right after.)
Dinged twice on RDM, which brought me up to 50! Yay yay yay! Now it's AF time! (And my BLM sub is only good until 53, so I need to stop soon and work on that again. Blech.)
After that I ran off to do the solo ENM Pulling the Strings, and was worried because this was a really important one: If I won, I'd ding DRK74! And I did!
The dice rolls were amazingly painless:
1) My TP increased to 129.
2) Something that doesn't show up in my log...
3) Mannequin cast absorb-MND on me. (Oh nos! Not that!)
And that's it! I didn't use one single hi-pot (which was a first), and I got my 2K XP and some little worm mulch (I can make a little worm belt from it).
So yay! An outstanding night!
