Ding RDM 60 (Naruto and FFXI)

Naruto: While I really, really, really hate the voice they picked for Rock Lee, It's so great seeing him again! This icon is for Ead, who is experiencing Rock Lee/Gai for the first time~ (Heeheehee.)

FFXI: 8 hours of XPing, 14K XP made = RDM 60! Thankfully both of today's parties didn't suck -- they weren't good, but they weren't awful and that means they were "good". Battled raptors all day, which means fire crystals! Woo! 3.5 stacks of them. *rolls in them*

The worst person of the day was the SAM who carried no range weapons... the SAM who put the party together. The SAM/WAR.

Him: "So who's pulling? The SMN?"
SMN: "Uh, no, I need to sit..."
Him: "Oh, the RDM can pull!"
Me: "Like hell. SAMs pull. Where's your ranged weapon?"
Him: "Uh... I'll voke pull."

So the SAM/WAR pulled raptors with voke. Yep, he died. A lot. Perhaps he'll learn.

See, he was the worst and that really wasn't so bad. When the first party broke up I had to wait a whole 30 seconds for the second invite. I'm so spoiled!

Unfortunately I died once as well, which was really annoying. One of our various pullers during the day got a link, and I tried to sleep it. I failed, and the darned raptor ripped me apart in seconds. Those things are so nasty.

I can't wait to go to happy fun easy safe joy joy joy Bibiki Bay. I'm sick of these camps you have to stealth across three zones to get to.

Jobs:
RDM = red mage
SAM = samuari
SUM = summoner

Pulling is running out from camp (where the rest of the party sits) and drawing back a mob (monster) for everyone to kill. The best way to do that is with a ranged weapon (like a bow, crossbow, or gun). Some jobs (thief, SAM) are meant to be pullers because they can use (or are good at using) ranged weapons.

This is a raptor (http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/ffxi/02-18-2005-raptor.jpg), they're very fast critters, so you would want to pull them with something that can be shot from a far distance (bow, xbow, gun). "Voke pulling" (pulling with the ability called Provoke) is something that has to be done from close range -- the person doing that would get hurt badly on the run back to camp.

The reason I pointed out his subjob was that the subjob of NIN (ninja) would give him the ability to put up "shadows" (copies of himself, letting him absorb the damage without taking it himself). So a SAM/NIN would be a better puller than a SAM/WAR.

RDM pulling... that SAM deserve a swift kick to the nether regions. Although I did do something similiar (but not nearly as bad) I pulled a pt together today... haven't done that since forever... got everything set up down to the SC (lazy melees) and then... I realized I forgot to get a puller XD. DRGs and DRKs aren't the usual suspect for that kinda job ya know... XD

Finally, grats on 60! Now get the rest your AF so you can start [officially] pimping! >:D

I was seriously losing interest in Naruto until tonight's ep.

Rock Lee and Gai are awesome. I will be getting myself a Rock Lee icon shortly. Oh yes.

Nah. Too much of the 'conversation that should only take a few minutes takes five episodes' DBZ thing for my tastes. The obvious slashiness was kinda nice, but other than that I had a hard time staying tuned in.

That's the one problem I have with the series. Wait till a hundred or so eps in, where they spend like ten eps talking as they do nothing but leap through trees. Heh.

But still, even with its problems I do love the series. Anything that can make me laugh out loud will probably get love from me.

The way you're saying SAM/WAR sounds like the way most people say WAR/WHM. SAM/WAR is awesome. I use Third Eye for pulling, Utsusemi: Ichi wouldn't be worth losing Berserk and Double Attack, let alone all of that TP.

Yeah, I didn't mean that SAM/WAR would be a problem for playing the job, but if he was some job with /NIN then the raptors wouldn't have had as much of a chance to gnaw on his head. :P
