Screenshots mostly (FFXI)

I wasn't going to make an FFXI post, but I got some screenshots I wanted to get up.

In trying to figure out why my shots aren't as sharp as they used to be, I uploaded a full sized version and a resized smaller version of this beautiful orange sky. Neither looks as crisp or as pretty as they looked online (my screenshots used to...), I can't figure out what changed.

Because I was bored, I XPed my NPC on those prehistoric big birds. Offhand I can't think of a mob that makes me skittish for RL reasons, but those birds do. I hate seeing them walk. I hate how they loom over me and spread their wings as they go by. It makes me feel like a wee little caveman hiding so that he doesn't get scooped up and carried off and eaten. I need to kill more of those birds.

Totally exhausted tonight. Soloed NIN from 18 -> 19. Took four hours for just under 4K XP, which is the worst I've done so far. (I think I was a little low for the area, Carpender's Landing off North Sandy. The BSTs who were XPing there were all one or two levels higher than me.) Hopefully tomorrow will go smoother. I'm considering seeking a party from 20 -> 22 because I wouldn't have to go to the Dunes, we'd likely be XPing on crabs (which supposedly is good for NIN tanks?), and I really do want to be able to NIN tank in a party if needed. I'm strongly considering taking this job past subjob levels, which (I'd think) means I can't/shouldn't solo/duo it too long.

Well, when I suggested duoing, it'd actually be in a party situation. :3 Much more exp, but in xping NIN in the early levels, I've noticed it's good having a backup voker. @_@ That way, everyone can learn their jobs without too much pressure, and how to bounce hate between two potential tanks.

Oh ha ha ha. That would be much better, yes.

Though I've gotten a level every day so far, I'm suspecting I won't hit 20 today. I need to go to Jeuno and buy the 19 level scroll (the blind one) and then make the tool needed to go with it.

Those are the things I was going to be levelling alchemy on, so if you want you could give me the materials and I could try to make them for you... except that I'd get NQs and failures instead of HQs, so it's probably not a very viable option. (I'm 8 levels below the cap. ^^;) Plus the earliest I could work on them for you would be tomorrow, and I'd imagine you'd want them sooner.

Still, if you need some extras made, I'd be happy to try for you, and when I start making them on my own, you and Des can have first shot at them.

Out of all EXP mobs, I'll have to say that greater birds, along with buffalos, are the ugliest, most annoying things to fight. >>;
Although I can't argue that a PT of DRGs makes mince meat out of the ones in Lufaise Medeaos. (Or would that be kabobs?)

Oh my god, I hate fighting buffalo so much. We farm them weekly, so I get to experience the "joy" of their Lowing move.

The scene:
Me: Hi, I'm Thistle! I'm a DRK! I get TP slow!
Me: Woo! Finally! I'm at 99%! Just one more hit and I can do a WS!
Buffalo: *Lowings*
Me: *watches TP fall, even though I land hits* *sigh*

*snickers* Yes! And we fight them with no WHM (except one guy's NPC is usually set to soothing healer, but she only casts on her "owner"). Virus is going to make me go bald! I pull my hair out as I watch my TP fall, fall, fall.

Thanks, but my alchemy and cooking are high enough to do it. I just need to corner some Bastok person with airship access so they can buy me eggs at the port vendor.
