Last of NIN soloing: 19 -> 20. Started 22 XP into level 19, ended 20 XP into level 20. Buffers? We don't need no steenkin' buffers!

Good thing it's the last of soloing, because again: 4K in 4 hours. Fights were much easier (I could even solo Ts, but mostly the highest thing left in my area was EM ), but the XP in general was slower.

After that I crafted for two very nice people (or four nice people, if you count the two people who asked me to do it for one of the one people!)

This post is very full of numbers, isn't it? Six, fourteen, nineteen! See?

Looking forward to NIN partying tomorrow, but wondering if I'm going to handle NIN like I did RMD: headlong rush to some level (AF level?) and then get so burned out on the job I never want to level it again? Or maybe 60 is just where things get really slow and so I'd rather go level something new... (But really, I DO want to level RDM again... one day. And I actually sort of want to XP DRK again too, though I worry I won't remember how to play the job. But when can I fit those things in?)

Seriously amusing: I'm finally using up the last of my jack o'lanterns from last Halloween event. Not the Halloween that just passed, the one before it (when they gave out free jacks). Eating them on NIN now, which is good other than that they're 3 hour food and I'll likely die a lot. :(

Didn't have time to XP my NPC (didn't even call him at a point to get credit for talking to him today!). Just had zero time. Very sad. Bad Thistle, no cookie.

Now it's late and I must run! Zzzzz I can never get offline on time anymore. Plus I really need to do my darned taxes soon. No later than this weekend.

Edit: I totally forgot to mention this! For the past few days I've been feeling like I want to give PLD a try. (Ha ha yes, like I need more jobs to level.) I have no idea why I feel like I should, but the idea keeps coming back and poking me, multiple times a day. I'm trying to ignore it because really, if I'm going to play a tank job, why not stick with the more popular one? (If I want to XP an unpopular job, I could return to DRK! "lol" -- not a real lol, see the quotes?) But I feel like a ducking: sometimes seeing things once imprints something onto my brain. PLDs in white armor are the biggest, strongest, bestest tanks around! Maybe not strongest DD-wise, but they can take hits like nothing else! ("But," a little voice whispers, "look at NIN! How smart is it to take a hit when you can avoid it instead?") But seeing people in PLD AF ([livejournal.com profile] zubis, Ni-kitty, and others) always made me feel safe. While NINs are cool tanks, they have never ever even once inspired that "safe" feeling in me... (I mean hey, when things go wrong and a 2 hour needs to be used, would you rather have someone who blows up and saves their own XP or someone who can take unlimited hits without dying?)

Bah, back to bed with me before this edit gets longer than the original post!

AAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhh~!!1

Totally know what you mean about PLDs VS NINs. As a WHM I like PLDs simply because I have the tools to take good care of them, and most of all they can save your life many times over. With SMN I tend to prefer NIN tanks just because they don't require as much cure spammage. There really isn't much a NIN can do if things go wrong other than stand there and spam ninjutsu and WAR JAs.

Sorry about the tax reminder. :P

It's interesting how different NIN and PLD are, yet they both do the same job. Makes me wonder about BLU and the other potential new jobs in the upcoming expansion. Will there be another tank, yet as different from NIN and PLD as PLD and NIN are from each other?

When you can set the hate threshhold at insane levels by curing yourself after getting hit, thus allowing for the DDs and BLMs to increase their damage output without risking death like they would with a NIN. ;3

Yeah. It's interesting how different the two jobs are. They're both tanks, both perhaps good tanks, but at some level it feels like NIN is a lot more selfish. PLDs take damage to let others do more damage, but on the other hand NINs don't take damage to save others the work of keeping them alive...

Maybe 'selfish' isn't a good word; I don't necessarily mean it in a bad way. I could say 'self-centered' as well, but that still implies something negative. 'Self-contained', maybe?

Maybe more like 'self-sustaining,' maybe? *shrug* Though that kind of applies to PLD too, perhaps not to as much of an extent.

You need to level PLD to 75 and go to Dynamis a lot. ;p For this.

If that is not one of the sexiest things ever, I don't know what is. ^_~

(Apologies; first time I posted I messed up the link.)
