1941 - World War II: Pacific War - After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour the U.S. Congress passes a declaration of war against Japan.
1968 - NLS (a system for which hypertext and the computer mouse were developed) is publicly demonstrated for the first time in San Francisco.
1991 - The leaders of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine sign an agreement dissolving the Soviet Union and establishing the Commonwealth of Independent States.

I think people like waging wars in December more than any other time of the year. I was going to do this meme, but my birthday is so depressing that I don't want to bother with it.

That'd make sense, I think. People tend to be happier in the summer. Winter's for cold and death and stuff. :P
