Short FFXI: Darned job! The first besieged happened on Midgar, and of course I was at work. Grrrr. People who get to sit around and play all day are so lucky. :(

(Yes, yes, I know it will happen again, but I get to play in such a small window of time on weekdays; I have about a one in five chance of being around when one happens! Grrrr/sigh.)

RL: Man, my sleeping has gotten so funky. Went from being totally unable to sleep to being dead-to-the-world as soon as my head touches the pillow. For as long as I can remember (10? 15? years now) no matter what time I set my alarm to, I wake up a minute or two before that. Suddenly that's not happening anymore! Three days now my alarm has woken me up.

But here's the odd part: I've long since trained myself to get out of bed and stand up before turning my alarm off (to prevent turning it off and rolling over to go back to sleep). Every morning this week I've woken up standing up! So my alarm goes off, I leap out of bed with heart racing, and then I wake up. While that's not the most peaceful way of waking up in the morning, I'm just happy to be sleeping the night through!

Do you know how Beseiged turned out? I'm guessing that the Imperial forces won because everyone's been waiting for this since the expansion came out. ^_~

Same story on every server: As few as 8 and as many as "well under 100" mobs show up in the town (or the wilds outside it). The mobs are all about level 50. 300+ level 75 characters are waiting for them. I think the longest a Beseiged lasted was 3 minutes, the shortest was under 30 seconds. :P

Yup, you didn't miss much... not at all.

The problem is 1: people can't wait 5 minutes for them to get into town and slaughtered them all outside (which, in case you don't know, doesn't count as Besieged)
2: there are just too many players, not enough mobs and them being lvl 50 does -not- help.

I know SE'll improve upon point 2, I just hope the players will learn to keep their effing pants on. (sorry, that's probably a bad analogy for you Thistle :P)

Yeah. I'm hoping that in time Besieged will become more fun. I didn't even bother going there last night because to spend my whole evening standing around and waiting for maybe a minute or two of attack would have been silly. :/

I'm usually awake by the time my feet hit the floor. I've trained myself to launch out of bed before really "waking up", mostly because I knew from the get-go that if I allowed myself to lie in bed "just a bit longer", I'd never get up. Nowadays, it's like "Boink - flick - ... what the? ... Doh, I'm awake, bah."

But I've almost never had problems sleeping. It might just be a "deep sleep" thing. I sleep deeper than anybody else I know.
