Thistle vs Cooking: Round Two! (And FFXI)
Apr. 27th, 2006 09:59 pmI give up. I just don't understand pierogies. My sister loves them, so when I saw them on sale I bought two boxes. Long ago I tried them fried and then boiled/fried, but both versions were tasteless and blah. I'm trying to clean out my freezer, so I decided to give them another chance tonight.
The back of the box said you could make a "casserole" by adding the box, a jar of sauce (alfredo? is that white sauce? I only had tomato so used that), and breadcrumbs on top, then bake. I could do that! (Edit: Oh yeah, they said to use ham as well but of course I wouldn't use that. That might have been my problem...)
But when it was all done, I found exactly the same as last time: They were totally tasteless. The box claimed they were stuffed with potato and cheese, but I saw (and tasted) no cheese at all. Into the garbage they went!
I'm going to throw my bread crumbs away, too. I don't like the spices/flavor of them. A lose-lose dinner all the way around. (But yay! Now I have a little more space in my freezer!)

FFXI: My NPC is a selfish bitch. You'd think we could take turns, but apparently not! *grumble*

*snerks* Or not. He almost died yesterday, and I was quite amazed to see him curse. (Yeah, yeah, "dammit" isn't a bad curse, but it is one.)
Tonight went surprisingly well! Learned Blood Drain and Blastbomb in two hours! Yay! So I went XPing and got from 14 to 15. Yay chocoboing on this job!
BLU is an amazing, amazing soloer. I took a T+ and lived with more than half my HP. EM+ left me with most of my HP and half my MP. I'm kind of interested to see how it is in a party, but I'm getting just fine XP soloing, so I'll stick with that for a while longer. (I really do want to hit 18 by Monday though so I can go as BLU to Eco and have a chance of learning Cursed Sphere there. I might have to give in and accept a Dunes party to make that happen. :/ )
Hmm, besides if I did get a Dunes party I might learn Screwdriver, Bomb Toss, and Cursed Sphere in it... Hmmmm. Saturday is NIN static, Sunday is Mitts run and NPC static, so it would have to be tomorrow night. Hm.
I thought I had more screenshots, but nope! My whole file is clean now! Yay!
