Screenshots and stuff (FFXI)

Surprisingly good night, even outside of Besieged. My BLU XPing had been cut short by it, but after it was done I did a little more and dinged 29! Yay! Even better, I learned Grand Slam (level 30, so I really needed it!) and Jet Stream (38). Woo! Jet Stream is an important one, but I think I won't worry about the others (Digest, Death Ray, Pinecomb Bomb, and Uppercut) till I'm bored and feel like working on them. They're all level 34-38 stuff anyway, so I have time.

In general, /shout "humor" is anything but. This, however, was really cute. From tonight's Besieged:

The first wave of Besieged: Undead! Look at all the dead people! (And don't those ghosts look totally cool?)

Fighting shoulder to shoulder with NPCs! That was a lot of fun, seeing hume and goblin NPCs fighting the mobs with us. :D

The last wave: GAH! Bring a few mobs with you, wny don't you? o.O However by that point we had 650+ people, as opposed to the 250 at the first two waves, so it was a whole lot less deathy.

I'm so bad: I don't want to go to work tomorrow in hopes of catching another one of these! :D But I have to go, alas.

By the way, I bet you guys don't know some of the faces we use? :E is a "toothy grin" and 9.9 is rolling your eyes. I think they were made up on-LS, so they might not be known otherwise...

These are actually fairly common emoticons on IRC and similar chat programs. It's really difficult to pin down where exactly they originated. I'm not sure, but I think punctuating one's sentence with '^^' or 'oo' is more of a FFXI thing. (After I figured out someone's alt through the emoticons they used, they blamed FFXI. Heh.)

Sorry about the useless emoticon rant. Erm-hrm.

Course I don't have a screenshot to back it up... but I think I remember him shouting at one point that he spoke english since eveyone was confused by his JP style letters. May have even been shortly after that reply...

Not 100% sure how i knew but for some reason I had the impression all last night that they guy using the JP style lettering spoke english. I really think it came from a quick scrolling shout at one point.
