My FFXI Day, by Thistle, age 4

Made shihei till it came out of my ears. Ended up with 6 stacks of toolbags. Discovered that the price had dropped like a rock since last I priced it. Down from 250K to 80-90K. Bah! Still a profit, but no where near as much as I had thought.

Besieged. Trolls. Trolls are nice and easy. Max reward.

Helped Des with the fire fragment thing for whatever ZM mission that is. Through IC. A mishap resulted in two deaths. :( Hate IC so very much.

Eco Warrior. Fun, as usual.

Escort. Fun and easy. Yay!

Warped back for most of a Besieged. Undead. Very long and not so nice. Got max reward.

*pant pant* Lastly we went out to kill sleepy sheep (Screenshot from last time we went out and killed them. Cute sleepy sheep!). Went out for XP, skillups, and profit. Unfortunately Des had death #2 for the day and deleveled from 75. Very depressing! Got about 2K limit points though, which was very nice! I thought I'd never have any merits (I'm not going to join an XP party to get them), but maybe one day I will!

Ended the day with about 10 more axe levels. Yay! Finally broke 1K damage on Rampage! (No SA, Last Resort, Souleater or anything.) YAY!

Unrelated to the day's events: I was amused by the timing of S-E announcing a new system for people to get tired while chocobo digging. Just as I was getting back into it... But the more I thought about it, the more I decided maybe it won't be so bad. Our server's problem is that we have too many diggers, so if each one is limited in the time they can dig, it'll be better for casual diggers like me. However, even though it's better for me personally, it annoys me that they'd want to restrict how much time people put into something. We're all paying the same amount of money. If Joe wants to spend 12 hours a day XPing and Mary wants to spend 15 hours a day fishing and Mike wants to chocobo dig for 8 hours a day, it should be their choice.

On the same note: If S-E wants to use that logic, there should be a crafting tiredness system, too. Come down on the bots/insane people (like me) who craft for 6, 8, 10 hours in a day. Sure they'd catch "real" (non-bot) crafters in that, but it'd also catch the botting crafters, too. Plus it makes as much sense as making people tired from digging/fishing.

And yes, there are chocobo digging bots out there. It's sad.

Have you done any meriting at all? You could break 1k easily on Rampage with Critical hit merits~

Nope, none! Haven't gotten a single merit yet. I'm thinking crit hit will be where I go, though I was also thinging that something like evasion would help all my jobs, not just one?

So many option!

hehe you need to start checking AH before you decide to do something time-comsuming like that =)

I keep telling myself that! :P But I would have made it all anyway, even if it was no profit at all -- I would have just stored it for my own use!

Technically i didn't delevel. IIRC, I were 395xp into 75 when I got back up again.

2600 limit points and the satisfying crunches from cycloned chigoes made the experience a little more manageable, at least. ^^;

Well, you deleved and then leveled back up? I saw the 'Desant falls to...' message, which was sad.

Very nice! And did you get more hides? I havn't priced them on the AH yet, but someone (Aurian? Draque?) said they were good money. I have one, so I need to check and list it!

Well...maybe you shouldn't give up the brd @40 after all? Or pick up rdm again?

I've officially changed mains from brd->sam, but I'll still be polishing off those last 5 levels for merit parties. Earn merits on BRD, spend them on SAM. Not sure if that'll work for job-specific merits, but I should be able to cap off stuff that's available on all jobs, like STR...I intend to have MP merits (and INT, if it's possible to have STR and INT merits at the same time, not to clear on that) before I level DRK.

I'm thinking going as a brd puller in the new Aht Urgan zones is going to get me some delicious merits in a relatively short period of time...I just hope most pts will let me /whm instead of /nin even while pulling. Stoneskin/Blink gives me as much survivability as Utsusemi, and brd pulling doesn't use a lot of MP...

Yeah, I know a couple people who do that. Seems to work out well.

Not sure if that'll work for job-specific merits

I had wondered about that too.

Based on what I've read, both are fine. But you know some players, they think they know the One True Way of doing things...

Good luck! :)
