I've never had a job I've been so "meh" about as BRD. Usually I love or hate a job, but BRD leaves me in varying shades of indifferent. XP static met again tonight, and things went well. Wish I hadn't been so tired so we could have gone longer. Barely got two levels (hitting 31).

As usual, we had to pick up two random DDs. First a lolWAR who DCed after a fight or two, who was replaced by a lolBLU. The other person was a RNG who claimed to be male (character was male) but gave off really strong girl-vibes. She was new and not very experienced, but nice, listened, and was very cute -- that counts for a lot!

The most fun and frustrating thing about BRD is getting people to stand in the right place. What part of "If you have MP, rest over here when the fight ends" do people fail to understand? I don't know why it's funny that people can't follow such simple instructions, but it had me amused most of the night.

After XP ended I did nothing at all. >< So bad. I had a ton of stuff I needed to do, but I was exhausted.

I need to look up the stats on BRD AF, because (assuming we keep going with these jobs) I don't want to even quest for it. It's fuzzy and ugly and the footwear is slippers. Gah! "Slippers"! How in the world can any adventurer run around in fricking SLIPPERS. >< Slippers! And I see no metal anywhere on that AF! And are those tights? Gah. And what the hell is up with that hat?

I know, I know. I usually say "function > form". I'm the guy who ran around in a subligar for how many DRK levels? But that BRD AF? No way, no how. Sorry. (Watch it be my luck and that BRD is one of the useful AFs. My wonderful, sexy, cool DRK AF could never be used for anything, but I bet this AF actually can be used.)

Edit: Okay, I checked. Could it actually be? Is it not all that useful? Only a couple of the pieces have BRD-related skills, the others have evasion and such. Yay!

BRD AF would be a nice counterweight to my AF. ;3 Cause you know.. NIN AF is all about the fishnets (http://www.silverbuck.com/images/ffxi/fishnets.jpg)...

Also hate to break it to ya, but the body, legs, and hands will be useful. +wind/string/singing skill is important since BRD only get like a C rating in each of those classes. :P

How insane is that? Why a C? It's, like, what they do!

Yeah, I really don't get that. It's like they don't want Bards to be really good at anything, even stuff that they're supposed to be good at. If the reason why they're a C is to keep their songs from being too overpowered, then maybe they should have balanced them appropriately in the beginning. But that would require forethought. ^_~

It's all clear now. Dilvias' BRD AF exists to balance out mine. ;p

Also, apparently BRD AF is one of those rare things that Thistle's model doesn't look good wearing. Dil pulls it off as well as any hume male possibly could. Must be the hair. ^_~

Post pictures of him in the AF? I'd be surprised if hair could make it better! Nothing could! ;)

Also remember that this is the guy in the pink harness, and, in fact, uses it in his user icon. I tease him so, but he's really nice and lots of fun to play with. ^^

You should level WAR. See how good Tovari looks? ^_~

Yeah, I like WAR AF a lot. It tempts me. ...too bad the job doesn't tempt me as much.

I'd love to level WAR again. There's just that little thing called "time" that keeps me from it. ;_;

I actually like the fishnets. Yes, they're impractical, but no less impractical than, say, RDM AF for a Mithra or DRG AF for any female except taru. But they're sexy. You can do the whole "kunoichi who seduces her enemeis and then kills them" thing. ;p

I can't stand it either, I'd totally burn that muffin hat if I didn't twitch at the thought of having an incomplete set of AF in the MH. The pants have kinda grown on me, though, and the gloves are not as bad as some of the mitten equips I've had to wear on mage jobs. Honestly the only thing I use the coat (string skill) for is Finale and only because I use a Military Harp--I just macro the equips in when I cast my songs and swap out as soon as I'm done singing. ^.^;

Yeah, if I were to get some of the pieces, I suppose I'd get them all just so I could store it. And woo, macroing them in would work! Just so that I didn't have to run around in them all the time.
