Oh boy, am I mostly a happy camper! DRKs getting an absorb-TP spell! EEEEE! BRDs getting an increased party movement speed song at 37! Yay! (Ack! That's only two levels away! Hope it comes from a vendor, otherwise it will cost an arm and a leg!)

The only downside is the awful names of the new DRK merit things: Dark Seal, Diabolic Eye, Muted Soul, Desperate Blows? Please, please, please do we need more fuel for DRK = emo jokes? I have no idea what they do, but the names make me feel like I should be in a dark corner cutting myself.

The "The number of items that can be dug up by each individual player over a certain period of time will be restricted." change to chocobo digging worries me a little, but I don't do it enough for it to be too much of a concern.

"Raptor Mazurka" makes me giggle.

Oh, and the changes to Besieged? Makes it sound like they'll happen more often! YAY!

Someone raised the point that a BLM could toss merits at the elements to perhaps get around that, but at this point it's all guesswork.

I'd be very surprised if Squenix would allow BLMs to get around the new magic resistance thing that easily. And the magic resistance applies to all magic it seems, including Summoners' pets, so "Throw more SMN at it!" won't work either! :)

Lvl 70 BPs aren't magic except for Flaming Crush, and for the most part excluding Aspid, Kirin and Cerberus they are better anyway. Won't change SMN on 95% of things.

Ah, I hadn't noticed that it was specifically "magical" Blood Pact abilities. Oh well, I guess Squenix will be nerfing summmoners later then :P
