Go Fish! (FFXI)

Ah, S-E, masters of the time-wasters. It's Summerfest, which means goldfish scooping. The only positive thing I can say about goldfish scooping is that it hasn't (yet) gotten the changes that real fishing has gotten. Luckily the company was good (<3 Nai), because the event itself was zero fun. And know what? Apparently others agreed: The first year it was introduced, mobs of people were at the pond in Ronf. The banks were lined with people. Tonight? Nai and I were nearly alone; there were maybe 10 other people there with us. But we both got goldfish kits! Yay! They're used in the new fishing tanks, which I want.

After that I finished a series of quests ("The Kind Cardian") which made me travel between Jeuno and Windy way too much. The reward sucked, but the story was really nice (and I freed up mule space by finally turning the card in), so I'm happy. (*checks spelling of that three times* I can never spell 'Cardian' because I pronounce it as 'Cardassian' in my head.)

After that I did the initial footwork to start production of bullets for barahir. Assuming my game time remains free tomorrow, I'll make a crapload of iron ingots, and then start bullet-making from there. Assuming I can get ore at 600 a piece, and assuming I do not HQ (or fail) the bullets, the iron cost should be 7,200/bullet stack, not counting crystal. Firesand can't be too much more on top of that (and I can make it, if that's cheaper -- I think it is). A stack of bullets is selling for roughly 20K, so you'll be looking at about 50% savings, Bara.

Unfortunately Besieged is broken on Midgar. The mobs have been frozen at 99 all day. Very sad. Since I can't clear my trial weapon on Besieged mobs, I came up with a new plan! I'm going to see if BRD 37 can make an okay reward by singing songs on myself and light healing. I'm about 4-5K behind my static, and I'd like to catch up. (Yeah, I know I'd be more productive as DRK. I'll go back to that once BRD is caught up, or if I can't get okay reward on it.)

Hmm, I need more icons. Getting bored with the ones I have now.

I'd just like to say your journal very nice. And about that besieged.. It's likely that the Astral Cand(I'll stop there) is stolen. The Lamia and Trolls have been stuck at 99 since the update because the Mamool Ja came up and Ninja striked us... Wiped all the Generals in 5 minutes.

Nope, we still have the AC. I guess it's possible that people are going into the strongholds and taking out whatever needs to be taken out, but I highly doubt that.

I've never seen one beastman force's numbers stay the same for more than an hour, let alone all three staying the same for more than six hours. Hope they get it fixed soon!

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! Hmmm, if our Candysense is gone, then our free warp taru is broken (which is totally possible, a lot of NPCs are broken right now). He's still warping us to the "right" places, not the far-off ones we get sent to when the Candysense is gone.

This probably makes me a horribly pathetic person, but... reading your FFXI posts makes me sad. I hate to admit it, but I really do miss that dumb game. Hopefully between post brain surgery and surviving on our own income money issues I can start up again... even if my account stuff will probably be deleted by then... *sigh*

Characters are kept for about a year on the server, depending on how you "deleted" them. There's a right way and a wrong way, but I don't know either way! I've never gotten close enough to closing my account to find out.

I cannot express to you how much I appreciate all the help with all this crafting. There's so much I feel I can't accomplish with such a limited schedule, and it's so great to know I got good people to depend on. Thank you again and I'm very glad I can help fill those "bored moments." ^^
