All work and no sleep makes Thistle a something something (FFXI)

First: The FFXI AH site is being updated again! Yay! Check your sales, check prices, stalk your friends, go crazy!

Mondays and Tuesdays are hard because I function on 3-4 hours of sleep per night. By Wednesday or Thursday I'm so dead tired that I can actually sleep, so the end of the week is usually better. But today? Zzzzzzz *thunk*

Monday = Eco and Escort. ~2K XP on WAR. Just a few XP from WAR30. Sooner or later I'll actually seek a party on it. Maybe.

Planted across all my mules. Harvested first and got about 4 stacks of the wrong kind of carrots. >< Luckily they sell for 100-150K/stack, so hopefully they'll sell.

Digging sucked worse than it's sucked since the "nerf". Got one gold beastcoin (and one frickin' black chocobo feather -- hello rarest item being vendor trash!). "Thankfully" two mules grew nearly 10 pots each of digging greens, so my cost for greens today was low enough that the one coin covered the price with a little left over as profit. But still, grumble.

I bought new boots for BRD (Inferno Sabots +1), but unfortunately they're seriously ugly and clash horribly with my RSE pants. Stats are a lot better though, so I have to stick with them. ; ; I was wearing leaping boots (less than half the def, with a little dex and agi) so the Sabots' def:8 mp+13 (New Moon: int+2, dark magic skill +5, ha ha.) are a lot better.

It's amazing. I couldn't care less what I wear in RL, but I want to look good in-game.

digging still works fine for me as you see in my last entry, maybe the time of day you dig there's too much competition? I would try just changing times and seeing what works best.
For feet equip what about the RSE custom boots? mp+12 hp+4 int+3 and agi+3 (helps parry i think and lowers chance of getting hit critical) and they are free and take no space (storage NPC). And if you want something fashionable the mannequin pumps are pretty cool looking and still mp+12 and mnd&int+, also free. Three or 4 points of defense tend to be almost unnoticeable especially compared to stats.

In the case of yesterday, the amount I dug was actually great. I think I had the entire zone to myself the whole time! (Did it at lunchtime, yay EU time!) It's just the results that sucked. :/ Probably a bad moon phase or something...

That's actually a good suggestion, other than that I have mental problems. :P I'm freaking out that I'm spending NO money on BRD! DRK needed so much money tossed at it that now for BRD I stand in front of the AH for hours trying to find something to upgrade or some "big" thing I need. I feel bad if I use something cheap, which is so totally silly. (RSE feet would be just as good as these new feet I just got, but I feel like I'd be not putting my best effort forward if I didn't spend money as part of doing my job.)

I know it's totally wacky and inaccurate, but I can't get over this "must spend money to do your best!" mental thing.

So your BRD is.. 40ish? Prices start to jump up after AF level if you go for HQs. Allure rings and melody earring +1 keeps you set for a while, but if you want to upgrade after that you can pick up wind earring, musical earring (75 ancient beastcoins?), throw your life's savings into manteel, buy an osode just for pulling... there's plenty of gilsinks if you try! Is your food too cheap!? Buy tacos!

A lot of good BRD gear is EX, so make sure to hunt down and check other bards and check sources like somepage, not just the AH.

48, yep! I looked at Allure rings at lunchtime, but they have the same CHR as my current rings, unless I went with the HQ for 1 more CHR each, and I wasn't sure if that was worth it. I suspect I'm getting overbalanced now (I'm at +28 CHR and have a bunch more coming in the next few levels).

Got the melody earrings +1 waiting for me in my locker!

I think allure rings pretty much last you forever unless you get hq angel (unlikely) or maybe light rings. I'm slowly replacing CHR gear with +wind skill, I still have ~+44 CHR at the moment, although the balance should shift some at 65. (The last time I had a SMN in my party I had literally double my base CHR with fenrir buffs, that's excessive though.)

I only use tacos for BCNMs because I'm cheap, but they're nice if you're pulling since you can take slightly more of a beating along with that added chance to land songs.

It was just one of those nights for digging I think. I didn't do too badly in terms of what I dug up, but it took more to get to 100.

Ice crystals are the one for the Zegham carrots I think. No ice in the current batch, but I'm darn well going to be trying them next run. I'll have a very detailed post on my first crop when they're harvested.

Yep on ice, and: Same! All my mules now have seeds planted and a stack of ice waiting to feed.

It takes two carrots per day to fill the chicks up, so even if that doesn't increase as they get older (which I bet it might) we're going to need a lot of carrots.

I can't wait for the personal ads to start once our chicks are adults! 'Single yellow chocobo seeks female with high stats in...'
