Pokemon: First I peered at the save info. Poked at it. Generally failed to edit it in any meaningful way. So I went in search of cheat codes!
Hints not to click on a cheat code page: When the title is "Misty without bra".
Anyway, I finally found a working one for "walking through walls". So I walked through the gym wall... and out into the forest behind it. >< Finally I figured out if you walk through the door it would move you into the gym, but if you walk through the wall you pass right through the building.
I feel bad about cheating, but it was this or stop playing. This may be my most perfect game ever (perfect team, great moves, all the levels are the same -- usually I end up with one monster and the rest just tagging along behind it), and I didn't want to give it up.

FFXI: People need to think ahead more. Chocobo raising is not a limited time event; you don't get only one try at raising a chocobo chick. Why are people going crazy buying greens at insane prices?
Since my chicks are only going to eat the Z-whatever carrots until the end of time, last night I listed some of my extra stacks of greens (and those vomp carrots I grew). Overnight everything sold. Five stacks. 500K profit. o.O
People, people, people. You have lots of time and as many chances to raise chicks as you like! Grow your own greens! Stop throwing your money away! Think! Six months from now, how bored are most people going to be with raising chicks? Then won't you be sorry you paid 150K for 12 carrots?

Date: 2006-08-29 03:59 pm (UTC)Just give your LS pals n'gals a decent price, that's all. Let the stupid people with more money than sense waste their Gil to your enrichment says I.

Date: 2006-08-29 04:22 pm (UTC)No kidding. Since I didn't grow any plants with ice crystals, I'm gonna make a fortune selling this stuff. Especially since a lot of people's chicks will past the paste stage by the time I'm ready to harvest.
These idiots will likely finance my Jungle Rope and Jupiter's Staff.

Date: 2006-08-29 04:50 pm (UTC)BUT -- that's okay, I'll infer by context that they're very expensive and that it would take a lot of stupid to fund the purchases.
*sagenods*
So...you're in like Flint!

Date: 2006-08-29 04:54 pm (UTC)But the thing is, I don't like taking advantage of people. I'd rather everyone be smart and greens sell for a fair price than for a few people to make easy money off the stupid masses.
It's so easy to not be stupid! Do a little research, read a few pages or message boards, educate yourself! RL or on game, work pays off! *shakes people until they do it*

Date: 2006-08-29 04:41 pm (UTC)Is it wrong to want to raise the chocobo without getting into gardening? I'm not set up for it and I have no interest in it whatsoever. I'm sure I can buy stuff from LS-folk, but I hate having to beg people for things. I like being self-sufficient when I can.
In the end, it's my fault for not holding onto the egg until after the craze passed like I originally said I would. Darn babies are too cute. ;p

Date: 2006-08-29 04:49 pm (UTC)But if you don't care about stats/abilities, you're perfectly fine with buying greens from the vendors!
But if you buy any sort of chocobo food for these insane prices, I'll hunt you down and hurt you. :)

Date: 2006-08-29 05:12 pm (UTC)I know I can get another one, and I know it's nothing but a mass of pixels, but I don't want to deliberately neglect it! Poor baby. ;_;
...I'll hunt you down and hurt you.
Normally, it's me hunting down and hurting you. ;p Or at least tossing you halfway around Vana'diel.

Date: 2006-08-29 05:33 pm (UTC)And you guys who want to cook up some pastes... I have had amazing luck farming lizard eggs. Like 2-3 stacks in a hour or so... I'm not ready to use them yet so if you need them please let me know. I guiltily put a stack on the AH to recoup some garnening supply costs, but the rest I'll happily give to those who can use them.

Date: 2006-08-29 05:42 pm (UTC)I mentioned in a comment below (or above!) yours that for people with no time (Cy was my example, but you're an even better one!) gardening isn't an option.
It turns out I don't need paste (raw carrots ftw!) but if you want some greens to make into paste, let me know! I have random not-quite-stacks of various greens on Fishingbot and I could send you some.

Date: 2006-08-29 05:13 pm (UTC)Now you have to go and post something on my LJ as a pay back =P
hehe anyways about the carrots some people in game are incredibly rich and have nothing to spend gil on i imagine. They probably just value the convenience of getting things without having to set up gardening and like have things first
It's the same for anything new that's introduced, when I started doing assaults I think I sold my first chivalrous chain for something crazy like 4mil+ I forget, and the second one for 2mil+. I remember wamoura cloth for pup frame was selling for 1mil on AH for a bit, now it's like 50k maybe.
Think of it as doing a public service for people who are trying to avoid losing gil from being capped at 99,999,999. Prices will drop down soon and you won't need to garden anymore at that point, but just setting pots up etc is something not everyone might want to bother with.
My guess is aside from when your chocobo is sick food won't make as big an impact anyways though, I usually feed mine ghysal greens and sandorian carrots for about 100 gil a day.

Heehee! Doing it now~! :D
Sounds likely on the food bit. I can't wait for prices to fall! I don't really enjoy gardening, and I wouldn't mind being able to stop.

That's what I recommended to Cy (a comment above you) as well. If you don't care about stats and don't have much playtime (like her), then buying stuff from the vendor is fine!

Date: 2006-08-29 07:21 pm (UTC)I also have a few lizard eggs around somewhere and the cooking skill to use them, so I can start my baby off with paste and then move him/her up to more solid foods. ^_~
