Boss walks over: How's it going?
Me: Ugh! Stressed! Very busy! Don't know if I'll be able to get everything done! *probably looked rather wild-eyed*
Boss: Yeah? What's happening?
Me, wants to say: Sandy mission 9-2 is tomorrow! Tomorrow! Will I be ready in time? With XP static tonight? And digging and checking my bird? What if I don't have all the CSs and hold everyone up? What if I forget a med? What if I do something stupid and mess up? And do you know how much AF our static has left to do?! I still need a key and a coffer and I don't want to do it! And we'll have a bunch of AF3 fights to do! And other members need keys and coffers, too! *pantpant* And and and!
Me, what I did say: Um. Lots of calls. c.c

*snerks* It really makes me giggle how the game stresses/worries me but RL is like "meh".

In last night's post I said I thought the Candysense would be taken today. Ha! It didn't last that long. It was taken overnight. :( For the first time since we got the expansion pack, I think I'm going to finally move my homepoint out of Whitegate. The warp taru is gone more than not, and with no Candysense he'd be useless even if he were there. Bah.

Very excited that I'll be rank 10 soon! Then all done with nation missions! Never ever ever ever ever moving anywhere else. I think the fight will be fun, and I'm actually looking forward to doing it twice this week. :)

God, I'm so never moving to another nation either. Not with how people now ignore the old areas, meaning I wouldn't be able to get the outposts again. Considering I use outposts all the time, multiple times a day, spending 20-30k a week on the damn things, it's not worth it to me to lose that ability. @.@

I'm so looking forward to having an aketon, or however it's spelled. <3 Haven't bought one as I want to earn it, damn it.

I practically live in mine. Between trips to the stable to visit my chocobo and buy greens, trips to the DB to send things off, it has become a permanent fixture in my inventory.

Ha ha, I thought I was the only person on the game who couldn't spell that. And same, I don't want to buy it, since I have tons of CP and can just earn it that way. Before I bought my insanely CP-expensive axe I could have gotten almost four of them. But I could still get 2 and have lots extra, if I wanted! (Just going to get one though.)

I really, really want to get the Gusta outpost (last one I don't have), but with the lack of interest in the old areas, I doubt it'll ever happen.

Same about Gusta. I'm not sure it's worth the million or so gil and hours of trouble to get it though. :)

Yeah. I might be willing to put the money into it (it takes 4M, if the reports I've read are correct) since it would be good for a lot of people. But to put the massive time plus the money into it, with the possibility of other people working to block your efforts? Not really worth it...

If the snotty warp taru in Whitegate says you reek, I'd wait until the Al Zhabi warp taru is returned before you set your HP somewhere other than Whitegate. Turn down the one in Al Zhabi a couple of times (omg, so sad!), then use the Whitegate one a few times to get the option to 'port to your home nation, right in front of the OP person.

I usually just use my Olduun Ring if I want to go to the ToAU areas, but it's handy to have that warp to home nation option when I want to be able to get back to Whitegate without having to run to a staging point to use the portal or take the boat because I've already used my ring for the day. The lag of having home point there is craptastic, but it's good to be able to do in a pinch IMO.

Tempted to change nations sometimes, but it'll have to be a week like this one where Bastok has just got everything but the Sandy/Windy starter areas. Desert digging would be sooooo easy with HP in Mines: buy greens at the stable, run to Korroloka, Escape to E. Altepa.

Escaping in Korroloka takes you to Bastok Mines. That's the quick way to get to Bastok, if you have a WHM and /BLM29. ;)

Yeah, but the problem is I have tele-altep and escape... but not at the same time. :P

Problem is, I'd rather not use the pay warp taru if possible. Usually I just go /WHM and Mea, then run to the outpost in Bubu and get to Sandy that way, but it takes a long time and then I have to switch my subjob back to something reasonable...

When the free warp taru and Candysense are both there, Whitegate is the perfect homepoint -- as good as Jeuno, but instant access for Besieged. I wish it was that way all the time, but I guess I'll just move HP elsewhere when it isn't.

Thus, you've stumbled across what friends and I refer to as "Chrono Cross Syndrome" (the name of the game we were playing when we discovered it). Real life is meh, game life is so much more fulfilling. My mundane struggles with work are nothing compared with saving the world! Some of my friends, upon this realization, sank into considerable depression. Some became truly gaming addicts- rarely leaving the dorms for food, and never for class.

Some never really recovered.

Yes, that totally fits. What is debugging some customer's stupid problem with our silly software compared to saving a city from attacking beastmen? Some days I boggle that anyone cares about this stuff... then I remember the city isn't even real and jobs/money/families/etc are. Still, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to switch it around. Make FFXI real and RL *poof* just a game.

Don't stress the mission tonight o.ob I'm confident that we're going to blow through it without too much fuss and then laugh at how we didn't do this a year ago :3

I suspect that as well, but I'd hate to underestimate it, too. I'm going to pack my bag full of as many hi-pots as I can carry, just in case.

Yay almost rank 10!
