Hide and seek (FFXI)

thistlechaserMy on-game life just keeps getting less and less exciting! I spent the entire day turning hides into leather for profit. Only time I left Sandy was to go chocobo digging (the less said about that, the better) and when a Besieged hit (I warped in, cast reraise and stoneskin, and they retreated >< ).
Things aren't selling at all, but I'm making a stockpile of stuff so that I can keep selling once I'm back to work.
I forgot to mention yesterday that my new egg hatched! Unfortunately, no matter that the breeding plan was for a female, it's male. >< Grrr. Fortunately for him, he was too cute for me to shove him into a sack and toss him into the river. Instead I'll raise him, then breed him once I can (which should be after the update/changes), and start over with a new bird. His name is HighlandRain, and I didn't bother with screenshots even though he is very cute -- we've seen them all already.
Got three .1 increases in leather. This slow speed is KILLING me, but the stuff I need just isn't at the AH, so what can you do. A friend's LS did Dyn-Sandy tonight and they promised to sell me all their griffon hides tomorrow, so hopefully I'll hit 96. (95.8 now).
Tomorrow I need to go farming again, if for no other reason than sitting in Sandy and synthing all day will drive me crazy. Might make dhalmel leather for profit, or might go farm gigas for their socks again. Likely it will be the dhalmels, since farming gigas makes me want to stab myself (socks are rare drops, and nine times out of ten I lose them in desynthing, even though I'm clothcraft 60). I'll just buy wool thread (need it for the leather skillup item).
