No less busy day than yesterday, but work was less sucky than expected (which will be the only day this month that happens on) so was somewhat better overall.

BRD static hit 61. Put my AF gloves on for the first time today. SE must have quite a sense of humor about BRDs. "Ha ha ha, we'll give them good abilities and have parties love them, but they're going to the ugliest people on the game to make up for it!" Look at my horrid gloves in action. And this stillshot shows just how bad my whole outfit is. I had really really thought that when I got to the 60s I'd look good as a BRD. >< I need new pants, but the RSE has a crapload of +MP and has +CHR. Those boots are ugly as hell, but they seem to be the best stats I can find. It's really the gloves that are the worst though. Off-pink (what the hell color are they, anyway?) and fricking fuzzy. I should wear my whole AF, it actually looks less worse as a whole than with the gloves alone. ><

Digging was bad, but good results (if that makes sense). Only one item in like 20-30 digs, but often it'd be something really good. Ended up with 1 adaman ore, 1 gold ore, 3 gold beastcoins (first fricking gold I've seen in three days), and 3 yellow rocks/3 red rocks (both 'rare' level items).

Did some crafting for skill, but the hides weren't available for a massive run (which was fine, I had no time). I actually caught two Narasimha hides up at the AH (for 10-fricking-K over their usual price of 30K), and was able to do two skillup synths for profit (maybe, Narasimha vest prices are falling fast). But best of all, I got a .1! Yay! Up to 98.5. Getting so close!

On this day a year ago, some wacky person on my flist asked for subligar screenshots. o.O So I went around posing with people, places, and things! With Beanie and Nif, with a rather phallic flower, with a war machine, in a holy place (but no holes in my subligar!), and in a pretty place. That makes me snicker now.

I have to post about anime sooner or later, but not tonight. Late! Zoom!

The brd gloves reminds me of the last boss in Super Smash Bro. :)

Hey... don't you want to eat them, Fye? Yay! A way to be rid of them!

The bad news is that although you can use Sha'ir gloves for EXP and stuff later on, you have to use AF gloves for big monsters that are going to resist things. Oh how badly they clash. Worse yet, they're better if you upgrade them, so you have to throw ancient beastcoins at your ugly gloves. Alas!

I just spent all my coins on WHM AF+1 gloves but I've yet to see any BRD stuff drop anyway.

o.o That's unreal since my Limbus group pretty much only sees BRD, SMN, WAR, SAM, and RDM. I've got like.. 3 halfs of AF+1 sets that I've had forever and I'll prolly never see the other half to them (WHM being one of them). Meanwhile I could skate to full SAM AF+1 if I really wanted to [shakes head] All I really want is some MNK AF+1 :| The legs and head would own me for Chi.

*ninjadeletes and rephrases*

I've never seen SMN drop either!

I think one piece of BRD material dropped, but I didn't win it, and the guy that did borrowed 3 coins from me, upgraded his gloves, and promptly left the shell and applied to another one without ever paying me back.

Moot point for me anyway, since I'd actually have to have Sea access to make use of the coins! :P

Thanks for the ideas though!

You should work on Sea access. Limbus is one of those nifty things that has great rewards and doesn't take a ton of time or people to do successfully if you have a bit of skill. (My current group started with 5 people and had no problems farming items/coins for AF upgrades, then went up to 7 people.) Take your current static, get to 75, get to Sea, do Limbus, profit o.ob No end game about it. You could do it all with your current set up. (But it would be time consuming and not contructive to you taking a break, so think about it in, like, 2 or 3 months <.< )

My group went from the first riverne to CoP rings in a little over a month meeting about once a week, but it was lengthy and a major money drain (especially 6-4).

Limbus is the only thing I've really done in about 9 months of sea access, and after reading the horror stories from shells that actually do sea it seems like the only good reason to get it. D;

6.4 was hell for my group ._.; We were at current with the missions (so among the first ones there) and had a PLD tank. I'm glad we stuck behind him 'cause the fight can be won with a PLD, but it was hard. I think it took us, like, 19 attempts over three weeks to do it. In the end it cost *just me* over 3 million gil on that one mission. If I could smack whoever came up with that fight (and making it so heavy handed against non-blink tanks) I would.

I've done some of the NM stuff. I thought the fights were interesting the first few times, but it can get old to not see stuff drop. Sky has a much better time:reward ratio. But Sea opens the way to Limbus, rings, doing the Bahamut quests and getting the nice earrings from that, Obis aren't bad either. I'd like a couple more gorgets for my melee jobs, but few people leap at the chance to go hug a Stripga casting UFO (though that has its own amusement value...) So it's not really Sea itself that's the win (though the shortcut to safehold is nice), but all the other side benefits.

I think the mission took us just shy of 10 tries, because even with a blink tank we were getting destroyed by Omega's missile attacks. When we finally made it to Ultima we won the first try, barely.

Sky is such a pain right now with ulli's aery. ; ; The first bahamut fight is kind of fun, didn't get any further than that because I hate scaling promyvions. I picked up the light obi but accidentally flagged the +hp healed while resting earring instead of +mp healed and I haven't talked to the NPC since.

The best luck I had with UFOs was fighting them as RDM WHM NIN, although even with the easy ones it took 40 minutes to kill them, especially since we (the RDM and I) had to run away every time it used charm. D: Somewhere there's a screenshot of the NIN hacking away at me with katanas and looooooling.

Hee, I bet! I love charm, because you can kill your friends and not be guilty of anything! :E

Yeah, it's on my list, just not anywhere near the top.

Take your current static, get to 75, get to Sea

Huh, that's an interesting idea... I'll poke the others about it!

That's pretty cold -.- But I do know the feeling with other gear. (My MNK has been doing Sky for 2 years, doesn't have Byakko Haidate. Why not? The new person (NIN) who 'needs it more' always gets it and then dashes a week later ; ; Is there no such thing as loyalty :|? ) And as for the coins, I'd hunt them down... >.>a

The gloves don't bother me as much as the guy that posted a full-size WoW screenshot on his journal and whined about RMT, outlotted me on BRD AF2 hat later the same day (there was no other competition), then sold his account pretty much the next day. :X

I still like FFXI but I'm burning out on it simply because of other people.
