11 and 12 (gaming)

11: Idled most of the day. Undead Besieged made up for my BRD deaths yet didn't put me into the static lead (yay). Re-did the ToA missions up to the ship BC to catch people up. Hopefully we can set a date to do the latest fight soon.

Went digging in lolPashhow Marshlands with Bore. Got a mess of crystals, even though there wasn't any weather at all. (Light: 4, Dark: 5, Fire: 1, Ice: 6, Wind: 7, Earth: 5, Lightning: 4, Water: 6)

Newest chick hatched. Third generation, finally a female! Hopefully she'll be black, otherwise she's getting shot in the head and maybe I'll start over with a new one.

12: Each day gets better! Balthier's voice makes me all melty, even though he's not much to look at. Fran does not annoy me at all, which totally amazes me (hello freaky giant rabbit woman, you're actually okay). Even her voice is okay.

The one downside to the game is that I can't currently just jump on and XP/farm right now. I'm stuck in some underground place (with the battery mimic things), so having 20 or 30 minutes isn't enough to get stuff done and find the next save point. :/

It's amazing how easy the game is. After 11, everything in 12 is just so... easy. I've only died once (damned werewolves), and nothing has really even been hard yet. It's very strange.

*laughs* I so have the same issue. Think we've played too much 11, and with how close 12 is to it, I know I just assume it to be hellish. Yet it isn't. You can teleport around, get anything just about anywhere, and enfeebles.. are effective! I still can't believe it. (It does get harder depending on where you go though. Like I'm having a hellish time with an esper who does insta kills.)

Belthier's voice does the same to me. They picked a great voice actor for him. <3

Exactly! Last night we re-did the graveyard and ship BC for Des and Nai. Just sneaking/invisibling to the fights was harder than all of 12 combined!

Fran's voice weirds me out... it always sounds like she has a giant cotton ball in her mouth. I've only watched a little bit of the game though, stopped pretty soon because I didn't want to ruin it -- so maybe I'll get used to it when I actually play it.

And she's totally a rabbit horse thing! I don't think woman even qualifies!

I just completed the game, and Balthier is definitely one of the 'leading' characters by the end. He definitely just outclassed every single other FF character in my book. XD

Ack! The battery mimic dungeon. I thought I'd never get through that one either 'cause I can't usually set aside an hour or two at a time to do it. I ended up having to do it in chunks. Pretty much clear a section and then pause while I did FFXI stuff, then come back and clear another section. As far as I could tell, sections I cleared out previously didn't get "re-infested" with the power drain ones, though I didn't backtrack too much. It took me most of the night, but I did get thrugh it. Helpfully, there is a save point midway through that dungeon too. So I think it's only 4 or 5 sections before you can save.

A thought that occurred to me tonight, have you done the fight for Decimation? It's not that impressive of a WS, but that's still outstanding isn't it? Should get that done tomorrow or something if maintenance doesn't get extended to something stupid like 7pm or something -.-;

Another thing! I think you did a smashing good job with the TAU fight this evening. You and Nai both did. Haha, you mowed right through your poor mobs and Nai didn't show any disadvantage at all even though she was 10 levels lower than the rest of the party. Well done :3!

A thought that occurred to me tonight, have you done the fight for Decimation?

Nope, my weapon is cleared and turned in, but I haven't done the fight. Last I heard, you were still blocked on getting it. Did you get unblocked yet? If not, I don't mind waiting!

Thanks! The fight was fun and went a million times easier than the first try. (We had been sleeping them, but the stupid yag kept DoTing them.)

Nope, I got unblocked (stupid stupid SE) and finished randomly while helping other people o.o I know Nyiri still has the weapon to clear, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. Let's just killed the NM and get it done. (The WS is really lol, but a quest is a quest!). If we do go we'll need some poison/venom and more than just 2 or 3 people (if we want to finish anytime soon). The NM has a lot of HP for some reason >.>;

I expect Des, Draque, Dani/Ead, and Nai/Aurian will be online tonight for another event, so we can probably grab them.

After you get out of the battery mimic dungeon, you'll have some exploration time and a party to do it with, and it doesn't need to include Vaan. ;p (I really do want to just toss him over the side of the next airship.) This is the point where I am, actually. You're going to catch up to me and pass me fairly quickly, and I'm not surprised. ^_~ (Particularly if I end up doing a lot of 11 stuff this week.)

And yes, I play FF12 rather like it's FF11, meaning I'm perfectly content to go off and explore and farm and such, while slowly getting bits and pieces of the plot.

Yay, I finally got out of the dungeon! I ran onto a NM(?), one of those cocka mobs (so silly!), but I died to him and when I restarted I couldn't find the darned fellow again.

Yeah, I ran into the NM cockatrice a couple of times. The first time I killed him with four people. The second time I barely managed it with three, and I had several character deaths in the process. I'm not really sure what the condition is to make it show up. Also, it hasn't given me any good drops. I'm not sure I like that particular carryover from 11. ;p

I've also found a NM mandragora, which was pretty easy to take out, and some giant water monster thing that I ran away from as soon as I saw it.

You're probably ready to poke around the Westersand. Just keep Libra up (it's *really* useful when exploring new areas) and watch out for elementals if there's a sand storm going on.

Yeah, there are random NMs just all over the place that are either up or not. I've been trying to make sure I catch each area's NM if I know one lurks around (and been successful so far). The cocka was a bit of a pain -.-; There's a NM bat in the Mines that I've been stalking. I've been told it drops a bow that I want, but I have yet to get a nice drop or steal. I did poach it once and got a pebble though... I think the best NM steal/drop I've gotten so far was a Bomb Shell from Pineapple (a bomb) that sold for like, almost 400g.

Is there any use for Pebbles? I have one and it sells for 2gil, which makes me think there's a reason to hold onto it. Or else it's just meant to be used as a throwing weapon. ^_~

I've been selling the pebbles -.-; I'd throw them if I could. The Knots of Rust do some crazy nice damage if the Crit o.O
