I'm failing at the whole 'taking time off' thing. Came home, did my digging, and two waves of Besieged hit, so I attended those. Next thing I knew, it was three and a half hours later and I was still in my work clothing. >< I think I'm going to stop going to Besiegeds for a while. I'm at 66K IS with nothing to do with it, and DRK doesn't get XP, so... It's semi-fun (sometimes very fun) but always so darned long. An hour or more per wave.

Digging was a waste, but a waste on purpose. I went to the Dunes (for serious, a waste. The best thing you can get there is a 2K turtle shell), but I wanted to see if anything interesting could be gotten there with Bore. Endless crap (fish scales, HQ pug scales, and sea shells coming out of my ears), but also demon horns, which count as both interesting and worth way more than turtle shells. (I really need to start writing down all the stuff you can get everywhere. The info is spread through my LJ and the BG board.)

First wave of Besieged was rough. Before I could move a step, a bunch of ghosts showed up on top of me:

{Run away!} AM x3! Heh. Ran out of range, luckily.

This makes me really happy, done on a level 99 Besieged mob, no Souleater, Last Resport, SA, or anything:

But this makes me even happier: Pack Attack! We look like a new race of PCs. :D

The bigger news of the day: Finally!

All done with guild points, forever! x.x Well, unless I go for a +1 item I don't have yet... or a key item I don't have yet... cc. I have all leather items and key items now, but I don't have some of the +1s from other crafts and missing a number of key items from other crafts. But really, that's it for now. *dead*

Getting 'moghancement: leathercraft' is such a bitchkitty. I had to add 8 bronze beds, which are massive and ugly. The Fleece is kind of ugly too, but not so bad when you put other things in front of it. And see all the ugly beds? >< Plus two of my mannequins aren't in place. There's just no room for them!

What I need are Sky Pots (Somepage link). Big ice energy in a small package! Those would rock so much! Problem is, they're a big pain to get. It comes from the Brigand's Chart quest, but it's only one of many many items you can get. You have to turn in Bhefhel Marlin to be cut open, and you might get the key item (or another key item), then you have to fish for three minutes (with a level 20 cap). You might fish up a chest, a mob, or fish. The mob tries to kill you, of course. :/ I might try it, but the chances of getting the Sky Pot seem so slim...

Anyone know how to find the dat file for furniture? If I could change the bronze beds to something smaller/less ugly, that would be a start.

Oh rats, the pots are EX. The chart quest is on my list of ones I haven't done yet and should get around to doing. (I'm down to ones that are a pain in the rear.. but are either within my power (like this one) or outside of my power (black belt -.-a ).)

When I turn in the fish to be cut open, assuming I get something at all, it's a 50/50 chance of getting the key item I need or getting the Pirate's Chart one. Did you do Pirate (the three person one) yet? If not, we could give that one a try. (Three SMNs is the recommended setup, but that's what Alla says of everything.)

Pirate won't give the pot I want, but there's no reason to let the key item go to waste if we want to try it. (Plus I think a good knife drops from the Pirate one. A while back Loth was paying people to try to get it for her.)

I haven't done any of the newer gutting quests yet :o Do you have more information that I can look at? Is it lvl20 cap? I could actually bring a lvl19*cough*closestihave*cough* SMN if that's what was needed o.O But variety is the spice of life. Quests :D

I used the info from the FFXI wiki.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Brigand%27s_Chart_%28Quest%29 - One person solo, 20 cap. May have 0 mobs or many mobs, it's random.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Pirate%27s_Chart - Three people, 20 cap, 3 NMs (all have 100 fists).

Sneakfishing doesn't work, but I have no idea if people outside your party can cure you. I'd hope so, but bet not.

I have no idea offhand what jobs I have near 20, but my SMN isn't one of them. It's 6-ish.

Let me start gutting fish, and we'll see what sort of key items I can get. Word is, you only have about a 7% chance of getting either key item, so it might not work out at all.

If Alla is to be believed, the SMNs can even go naked. I'm sure we could dig up at least one other SMN, and maybe I could go lolmelee or some sort of mage.

[volunteers Nif to stand outside of party and cure us if he can]... Or else he can Raise us afterwards >.>; haha :x I think I tried doing this before but had problems catching the fish. (Not catching it, per say, but that the bait I was using was also attracting other fish and I'd catch all the wrong fish and not the marlin :/ ) But hey, it's worth a try o.ob (And at 20, a clothed SMN is almost the same as a naked one ^^; I think there's only a hairpin and a handful of other things one could wear that's useful from what I recall.)

Yay for Nif! I suspect we'll be overly ready for tomorrow, but much better to be over than under!

*pokes* By the way, Jack in the Box now has cheese sticks, but they are yucky. Half breading and half cheese, the flavor is just somehow totally off. And the dipping sauce is so gross that I had to throw it out after opening it, I couldn't even stand the smell.

JitB o.O; I don't generally trust things out of JitB fryers. I like their milkshakes and their cheeseburgers and that's it. Arby's has the good cheesesticks (at least in my opinion.)

I like their curly fries a lot. When I feel like having fries, that's usually where I go. But otherwise, yeah: Arby's cheese sticks >>>> JitB's.

grats on the fleece. I did my other key items first so I'm still 130/150k on tapestry. You can double-up points on many key items when you finish it and change guild and do another guild item, it's pretty nice because it's faster that way.

The mob in besieged was a qutrub, so those take double damage from melee, you saw my screenshot of a 3k dragon kick with 5800 extra light damage on one of those as mnk/nin, the westrels in besieged I think have decent evasion though so i guess 900 damage as double damage is still reasonably ok.

The sky pot is not all that hard to get, but you can't solo that BC, the stuff you fish is just too strong and you have too little time. The Bhefhel fish is easy to fish up even with fishing skill of 30 or so though if that helps.

For my cloth GP mogitem the element is earth which seems much easier to energize (maple table is +8 energy each and I could switch to gardening anytime with oak table +10) and with some nice side-effects (storage+3 on the cheap caisson), plus many decent-looking event items are earth so I hope it will be easy to get that full.

Yeah, earth is easy as pie. :/ But then the leather craft is screwed over in every other way, not just the element of the item. Every other craft has multiple guild locations and shops, all except leather. :/

Are you thinking about the Pirate's Chart quest instead of the Brigand's Chart one? Pirate is three people, but Brigand is solo. (I'm wondering if I could have a healer cure me while I fight, or if all sorts of assistance is blocked.

Last Besieged I did, I got flared by Aerial Torpedo because I didn't realize it was casting anything :X whoops! I aggroed Gurfurlur when he popped but ran for the hills, at least most Besieged mobs get bored quickly.

Ha, yes, that saves me so often. I WS, unlock, and run, every single time. No one vokes or anything during Besieged, so I get hate way too often.

Run run, little DRK!

*sneefs* I voke! I just... don't hit anything. So I don't have hate built up ; ; Silly paladins.

The getting bored easily was hilarious last night. There were.. hmm.. I think it started as 9 but was whittled down fairly quickly.. mobs all on the RNG general. I ran over there and tossed a Banishga on them to try to get a few off of her (most were unclaimed). They came after me for about 2 steps and then went back to the general. So I spent a good 15 minutes skilling Divine by spam casting Banishga I/II >.>; I got 6 levels of Divine from the Besieged and didn't get whacked once while doing that. [Is a horrible person.] What's worse, I was standing next to the general to make sure she was okay and they wouldn't even glance at me or get very far hurting her. It was kinda surreal considering the number of mobs that were on her...
