Busy but good day (FFXI)

Won all four of our Assaults! Repeat of two 'kill all the walls', then new ones: Orichalcum Survey and Preemptive Strike. Everyone ranked up who hadn't already! And we're 11 points into the next rank! Woo~! Next week, if we win them all, we'll be at 22 points. Rarr!

Scurried off to do digging after that, and actually had a good day for once. First time in weeks! Got tons of ores (4 darksteel, 1 adaman, 1 alum-whatever, 2 plat) and 4 (4!) Philosopher's Stone! I've never gotten more than 2 in a day.

Besieged is about to start now, which will round out the day. *pantpant* So much to do, so little time!

Nothing done on Chaser tonight, didn't have a second of time to deal with her.

If it's Assault points for rank I've 17. I'll lose points next week in gaining rank unless we do one new and three old.

Points, yep! I'm trying to figure out how we can lose as few points for people when we're all at different numbers.

If we start out with a new one, that would put you at 22 and Des maybe at 25. We could do three old ones after that, which would lose you none and Des could check after each one... wait. You can't rank up unless you find the hoofprint, right? So Des is going to lose points no matter what we do. And if you don't find it during the week, all points next week will be lost? Yeah, looks like it (Wiki page: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Promotion:_Superior_Private). This is going to be complex...

So say we do 1 new and 3 old this coming week, that will put tail end at 20 (me at 21) at the end of the coming week. That would mean we'd have to do 4 old the next week so as not to lose points... but then they'd be at 24 and lose points the next week. ><

Maybe we'll just have to keep doing '2 new, 2 old' and people deal with losing points, though I'd really rather not have people lose.

I'm personally willing to lose points, as long as it isn't too much. (Like doing a 5pter and we're only 1pt away. c.c)

If we do the two new ones first I'll only lose two points. That might be the best option. Or do one, let Des check, then go from there. The only way to make sure no one loses points is to not do four assaults depending on how things go.

That sounds like a plan:

Do one new. Des goes to check to see if he ranks up.

If yes: Do three old ones. Points still lost, but as few as possible.
If no: We do another new one and the usual two old ones.

You and Des rank up during the week. We figure out what to do with the rest of us next time. :P

Thistle, either your posts on FFXI are more effective than you think on non-players or I'm hallucinating, but I could have sworn I knew what you were talking about with your Assault notes before I read the comments to them.
