(Joke in subject line was shamelessly stolen from Nyiri.)

Unless Nil grabs Meyoh and gets his mission done on his own, we'll repeat last week's plan for this week: One new Assault, then we'll go off to get Nil caught up on ToaU mission. Once that's done, we can look at doing the fight we all need! Maybe we'll get caught up on ToAU missions before the new ones are released~!

New Assaults are now open to us! Most of these are no longer easy to sum up in one sentence, so click the link for more info.

Escort Professor Clavauert: Protect the NPC from the undead. Looks a little tricky and we'd have to rely on Draque/Carby a lot.

Sagelord Elimination: Killing a NM, with a twist. (Would probably want D to come as SMN for this one?)

Troll Fugitives: Kill all the broken trolls! Yay!

Saving Private Ryaaf: Lots of killing and NPC finding (see link for 'trick' to winning). (Edit: See first comment left.)

Extermination: Kill all the... various mobs! (Probably want someone to come /RNG for widescan.)

The first repeat we need, let's do Requiem again. Not only is it in the place the most of us need something from, it'll be a new one for Draque.

Are there any we don't want to do? It's fine! We've skipped some before! (Unless you are in the assault static, please do not vote in this poll.)

Yikes.... word of warning, the tactics for Saving Private Ryaaf on the wiki, although not wrong, are horrible and over-complicated if you have someone with SAM lvl 30+.

I spammed this assault a lot, so here's my quick and dirty method:

1) Have a pt member as sam or /sam for meditate and able to equip a dagger or staff for aoe weaponskill (not sword as circle blade can and will miss)

2) ~meditate~ Avoid the fomors in the halls and head to the north room (if a path is blocked you can usually go around a different path). If you get aggro you can use movement+ or gravity to run away... they lose aggro quickly. We've even been able to lose them with no speed advantage.

3) Stand outside the north room and look to the NW on top of the cage... you'll see a crouching fomor. If he's facing North have the sam or /sam run in (with 100%+ tp) and aggro all 3 chigoes and aoe ws to kill. Talk to NPC. Follow the chart on the wiki to figure out where to go next.

If he's facing East, do not enter the room - go to the West room and kill the chigoes. The NPC will 100% be correct. Follow the chart on the wiki to figure out where to go next.

This is by far the easiest SP mission and can be solo'd by a /SAM.

Wow, thanks! Our static has two SAMs in it, so this is great to know.

You don't have to mess with the expermiental undead here, using that wiki map showing the npc locations you just avoid them altogether. They will roam around and allow plenty room to stealth. Also the chigoes are really really easy. A one shot aoe move is obviously fastest but if you have a rdm or pld or something aggro them first it's not like they are going to die in 30 seconds.

I've done all of those save for the escort. Sagelord, is basically a pain, as said in the guide, he runs, alot. Links the entire place, so you need a good solid party for this to just mow thru his cronies.

Extermination, and Saving Private Ryaaf are pretty straight forward, as is Troll Fugitives.

All in all, nothing real frustrating.

People have already given you good advice on the Saving Private dude.

The Sagelord one we did with lots of sleep and ignored the mobs. You'll definitely want D as SMN so that he can have Carby on the Sagelord when he runs. Follow Carby to his next spot, he'll outrun your field of vision x.x;

Troll Fugitives was a bit harder than I was expecting when we did it, mostly 'cause they aren't as weak as one would hope z.z; And the time is pretty tight on getting them all killed.

The Escort one can be an absolute pain. It would put a lot of stress on D for him to pull off all of the mobs and train them around :/ When I did it we went as RDM WHM WHM SMN SMN SMN and there was still plenty of death 'cause the mobs weren't acting properly with the SMNs.

Extermination is another that took us a couple tries to get down, mostly 'cause of having to split up in order to kill all of the mobs in time. I thought there was a map somewhere (wiki?) that showed the mob locations. I don't recall needing widescan to locate them o.o

For escort a friend invited a friend and he was NIN/WHM, he cast dia on everything and trained it away, he was like using the map to follow us I think and he'd come back every now and then and pick up whatever he missed. I couldn't ask him specifics because he didn't know that great of English. He had no trouble handling everything by himself though, I don't think he took damage once. We had 2 healers following the escort to cure him until the NIN came back, but the RDM could have done it alone, and that was it. Not sure how well a single SMN could train them away as said above. There was another NIN and SMN there as well, but that NIN did something different, not entirely sure what, but he got owned and the SMN died from curing him, so we just raised them after we won.
