Sooner or later the RL part of my posts is going to become 'smoothie of the day' and nothing more. :P I wandered by a fruit stand on the way home and got some stuff for the next couple days.

Today's smoothie: Pears + frozen nonfat vanilla yogurt + a little orange juice. I was pretty sure that wouldn't work well (pears + OJ?!) but I had no idea what sort of liquid I could use (juice choice was limited) so I tried it. Best one so far! Amazing! It was like a tropical vacation in my mouth~!

The 'down note' falls under the RL heading. I got a notice that my rent is increasing again. The last increase was too much, in my opinion. I hate hate hate the idea of moving (so much disruption to my life!), but I'm looking for a poking through ads. :/ I semi-like this place though. It's not as whisper quiet as it used to be, but I suspect it's still quieter than average. Bah. :/

Okay, looking over my records. The last increase was actually a year ago (feels like yesterday!) only $45 more. This increase is $100 more. Is that reasonable? We're not getting anything extra/new...

FFXI: Meh. Bored out of my mind, I actually went leveling. Took SAM to the Jungles. In a way it was okay because I didn't have to level the job, so I knew I could walk out any second I wanted to. That's funny, since I actually ended up staying in the party an hour longer than I was intending. The party leader/low ranking WAR was a nice guy, yet twitching endlessly about the JP members of the party. (We were 3/3 NA/JP.) He was certain they were all talking about him, not happy with stuff, etc. I tried to calm him down and talk him through stuff -- I remember my first parties with JPs I felt exactly the same way.

I felt bad leaving the party because the leader told me to invite a seeking BRD in my place. That left the party as WHM, RDM, SMN (curing mostly), BRD, MNK, and the WAR. Maybe the SMN would DD more and things might work out. Who knows.

Went from 25 to 26. After that just watched TV. All in all: boring night. Annoyed about the apartment thing though. :/

The reason your rent is going up is probably not due to any new services, but because the rental market prices are trending upwards. Our rent has increased twice in the last 18 months, too.

But we're still paying less than what someone moving in new would pay.

Ah, that's sad. Good to know, but sad. (He's long since brought me into line with what new people are paying, too.) :/ Oh well.

That would be an insane rent hike around here, but for your area, it might not be. The California housing market is insane as far as I'm concerned (and judging by all the people that move here from California, lots of them agree).

"Insane" doesn't describe it. My sister bought a four bedroom home for way less than the price of a one bedroom condo here. :/ I love the area and the people here though (and the weather is amazing), otherwise I'd move. I might move anyway.

I'm guessing your city hasn't got a lot of protections for renters? But try to find out if there are any local renter's rights organizations, just in case. (The SO and I are thinking of moving in the next few months, but not for somewhere cheaper so much as some place more like a real home! We're finally outgrowing our cave, sniff!)

Yay for a new place! :) And not that I know of, but I'll look into that!

Because that stupid wasteful school bond measure eeked through in November (they wanted money to replace a brand new school that was built 15 years ago)... My property taxes when up $600 a year :/ I know it's not $100/mo, but it's entirely possible that something equally aggrivating happened to your landlord and that's why it's gone up :(

Ah, that could be. I didn't even think about taxes and stuff. :/
