Can you get into safe mode at all? Sometimes that helps. Get into safe mode and see if you can't get defrag to run. Otherwise you might have to reinstall windows. o.o
Reboot and hold down F8 during boot up. That should give you a list of options. Pick safe mode. You won't be able to use the internet or anything. Just see if you can't boot to that.
Last night it just totally stopped booting up at all. I'd get the fan turning on (first thing it does when booting up) and nothing else. For some reason it's booting this morning...
Nai said below that she'd rather just skip, which seems safest. I don't know if my machine will be staying up or not.
I'm very surprised it's up right now, since computers tend not to heal themselves! Maybe it was overheating, but the outside didn't feel hot and it was only 76 in my apartment...
Last night it totally stopped booting at all, but this morning it booted and hasn't crashed yet. Safest to skip though, since I have no idea if it'll stay up.
I only saw it happening once Windows had been loaded for about 30 seconds. After 8-9 times of it crashing after booting, it just totally stopped booting! (The fan would come on -- the first thing that happens when I boot, but nothing else, screen stayed black, all that.) I have no clue why it booted this morning...
