Rings and things (FFXI)
May. 11th, 2007 07:04 amLast night we finally, finally caught up on ToAU missions. I don't think I've ever seen longer cutscenes. The story was good, great in some parts, but about midway through some of the longer CSs my eyes just glazed over and I spam-entered. (Screenshotted the text so I could reread it at a later date though.)
Unfortunately I think a big part of the story would have been more interesting if I played other FF games (I only did FFX).
Interesting impact on IC stuff though. :D And since IC Thistle tends not to listen to all the political stuff, it's fine that I haven't OOCly absorbed all the info yet.
The only down part to missioning was that a Besieged started right at the same time we did. Really really rough (and was just trolls!), they got down to one general before finally pulling out the win. I swear, I was kicking myself the entire time it was going on. If we had lost... But we won! And the missions didn't have to be pushed back, so it all worked out.
This morning unfortunately another Besieged wave is building, but there's no way I can stay for it. :/ I did pick up my ring though!

I'm thinking Besieged deaths must count in that, because mine have more than doubled from last year.
Zoom zoom, time for work!
PS: 3 hours of broken sleep the night before last, 4 hours last night, about the same most of the previous week. zzzz But I think I figured out the problem! I was hitting the Sudafed too hard (allergies are killing me this year!) and when I take it too long I get that 'sleeplessness' effect. No more for a while! Who needs to breathe~?

Date: 2007-05-11 08:52 pm (UTC)Ten times you can use it to get twice as much XP as usual. The effect will last until you get 3000 free XP or 720 minutes pass, whichever happens first.
XP bonuses are amazingly rare in FFXI (so much envy for WoW in this case), and when we do get an XP bonus (those much weaker rings you can buy) it's a lot smaller, so this Anniversary Ring is amazingly great... for ten uses. Then it's trash.
Unfortunately it doesn't even mean "'Ha ha, I've been around longer than you have NOOB' item? ;)". Anyone can get one. Make a new character today and you could get one. Storage mules can get them. :/
Still, as limited as these are, they're so much better than what SE usually gives us, so I'm pretty happy.

Ah! That's good to know! I wasn't totally sure if it was in my head even though it seemed to synch up with when I took Sudafed.
