Getting about 4 hours of sleep a night for the past two weeks is really catching up with me. *headdesks* zzzzz Stupid birds start chirping pre-dawn and wake me up, and once I'm awake there's no getting back to sleep. Plus, the sun comes up way too early and the littlest bit of light would wake me up... except the birds are up before the light, so it doesn't matter.
C'mon back, winter! Please! Make the birdies fly south and make the sun come up later!
Plus side: At least the mocking birds haven't come back (yet). For those who don't recall, those stupid birds make their car alarm-type calls (7 songs repeating endlessly, endlessly, endlessly) all though the night. Sing in the morning, like the other annoying birds? Nope. Sing in the daytime? Nope. 1 AM, 2 AM, 3 AM? Yay! Singing time!
Stupid birds.

FFXI: I decided to do COR "right", unlike BRD. BRD I just wore whatever armor, no real care about HQ or not. But, like DRK, I want to do COR right. So I spent the evening making HQ Noct stuff. And since I knew I wanted to HQ it, how about signed?
Heh. I forgot what a bitch it was to HQ Noct. I ended up with about 40 signed NQ pieces (no way I'm letting signed NQ out into the world, so they're all going through the AH), including 14 NQ body pieces before I finally HQed that. No signing crystals or GP left. Going to actually have to do a couple turnins on Thistle again!
Unfortunately, after HQing all five pieces I realized I didn't actually need the head. I have a Emperor Hairpin (I guess from NIN? Thought I had sold it) so that's HP -15, DEX +3, AGI +3, Evasion +10 vs AGI +2 for the hat.
I'm keeping my eye open for a Peacock Charm (RACC +10, among other things) as well. Price is higher than I'd like, but it looks like it's slowly dropping. Hopefully I can get one for not much over 2M. (That had been my goldsmithing money for Chaser, but I haven't felt like skilling in ages.)
In the interest of doing COR "right", I suppose I'll level RNG. I like /WHM a lot, and I have /NIN available, but /RNG seems to be the other big subjob for it. Problem is, I'd rather have teeth pulled than level RNG. It's 18 now, maybe I can dump my weekly XP scrolls into it... That leaves BRD with no way to build an XP buffer though. Maybe after I get this last merit point and can spend them, I'll change to doing Besieged for XP instead of LP.
It's amazing how few CORs there are (darned Immortals~). I like to use search to see subjobs and stuff. Last night I did /sea all COR 20-60 and got only 4 CORs. o.O I wonder why it isn't a more played job?

Date: 2007-05-17 04:13 pm (UTC)I suppose I shouldn't tell you that you don't need the feet either...RSE ftw!
Hands though. Hands will last you till wyrmal gloves. If you ever get those. =p
I'm semi-knowledgeable on COR, so let me know if you have any questions. =p

Grrr. I actually looked at the RSE to make sure it wasn't better. How in the world did I miss the feet? Bah.
Well, at least both the Noct hat and boots I HQed 1/2. If it was 1/15 like the body I'd shoot myself now. :P

Date: 2007-05-17 04:23 pm (UTC)I've also that level 30, /rng earring (Beaters?) if you wish to borrow. While I'd like to level Cor as well, it won't be for a long time thanks to trying to get rdm and thf up to 37. :)

Date: 2007-05-17 04:33 pm (UTC)Also, with the Noct set I didn't need more then food to hit well. Me with my lack of accuracy... a peacock charm wouldn't have done much. I doubt you'll need it at all. :) I even had to really slow my shots for getting too much hate on rng, and that was with a gun at the end.

Date: 2007-05-17 08:58 pm (UTC)Ah, hm, that's interesting. Well, I'll get to play COR for a bit before I can even use it, so maybe I'll wait and see.
The other thing is, I'd much rather spend 2M on the charm than on goldsmithing. Skilling goldsmithing still feels so much like throwing the money out the window. If I'm lucky I'd get two levels with 2M. :/ At least the charm would be something I could have and hold onto.

Date: 2007-05-17 04:33 pm (UTC)If you do decide to go /RNG and have a bit of extra money to spend and plan on firing ammo when not using rolls, look for the beater's earring and gun belt. I don't really know what options I have for going not /RNG, but I'll look into that when I start to level COR again.

Date: 2007-05-17 09:02 pm (UTC)Basically last night's thought process went like: Ooo, new moon! And HQ is good! Yay all HQ noct! *synthsynthsynth, no checking, just synth!* 9.9

Date: 2007-05-17 04:32 pm (UTC)As for finding only 4 CORs, I'd think the job would be a lot like BRD or RDM in that the people stay /anon when they don't want to XP so that they aren't hammered with requests to come be a Refresh Whore :x Just as doing a /sea of WHM hardly gives an accurate picture after lvl25 or so >.>;
As for RNG, at least the job has the option of going pretty far solo and SE has handed out those spiffy XP rings. Could go on a worm killing rampage and just get it overwith or XP it like normal. Aven proved recently that the job gets invites pretty quickly now. Just forego skilling Archery at all and only work on Marksmanship. On a plus side, it'd give you a headstart on that for your COR!

Date: 2007-05-17 09:37 pm (UTC)Contrast that with my husband, who took the baby to bed with him last night and promptly fell asleep and stayed asleep through quite a bit of screaming. While one of us obviously needs to be able to wake up for that sort of thing, dang, I'm jealous he can manage that.
