(Edit: Post is kind of depressing, so have a cute kitty to make up for it!)

This 'Creature Comforts' show may be the worst show I have ever seen on TV. Horrible 'animation' (claymation). Interviews from thousands of Americans and they pulled lines out to animate. The first clip: Two dogs are sniffing another dog's butt. The voice track they used were two men smelling a glass of wine before they drank it. Really, it's just that funny.

Nothing else is on, so I figured I'd leave it on in the background as noise. I got up to the part (about five minutes in) with some hick-sounding guy saying 'nothing should go up your butt, butts are made for things to go out of and not to go into' before I shut it off. I've never wanted to throw the remote at the TV before now.

FFXI: Operation Assault With Randoms: Canceled! Yesterday I wasted two tags on doing Excavation Duty (the simplest one, 'kill all walls') with randoms. Half the party had no invisible, there were deaths, and we only won 1/2 runs. Today a rank 10 guy was shouting for help with 13, and since I could do BRD/RDM and nearly solo it, I said sure. Damned idiot third person (RDM) wouldn't stop casting even when told to, got hate, died, I was in range and died next. Yay eating a damned R1 and the waste of another tag. That's it. I give up on randoms for anything.

Not wanting to deal with random idiots and yet bored out of my brain, I took BST out for a while. It was okay, other than when the two "soloers" (solo + PL) and the one person leveling their NPC moved into where I was working. Yeah, no pets. But no problems, since there were no mobs to kill anyway.

While Hot & Cold'ing this morning, I spotted Rose Garden, but I was naked and had no weapon, so I let him be.

Yesterday I found a new-to-me NM, though it isn't really named like one. Geyser Lizard, he only dropped a skin.

H&C is being very very good to me. Over the weekend I dug up a puppet attachment which sold for 150K. (History had been 250K to 130K, I priced it low because it was slow selling and a few were up.) Couple buffalo hides, a wooden flower pot... H&C is becoming my major source of income nowadays.

Plain old chocobo digging isn't going so well. It's the summer, so kids are all out of school. (Darned kids, they should go to school 340 days a year! :P ) The Deserts are never, ever not dug up, I hardly even bother trying there anymore. Very sad, it's like pre-nerf days.

Tomorrow is the update day (yay), but who knows what I'll do for the whole day. I have RL stuff that I need doing, but they're doing work on the patio outside my apartment so basically you can't go in or out between 9 AM and 4 PM. That'd be fine if I wasn't on vacation... I want to go out, but I don't want to be stuck out until 4.

I can never get Geyser Lizard to pop, but now I want to since he's like the godzilla of lizards. ; ;

I passed him a couple times before wondering why he was named differently. Looked him up and saw he was a NM! :P Just got lucky, I guess.

@.@ Rose Garden!?

I doubt it's of much comfort to you, but give me a /poke if/when you need a RDM (or WHM? although WHM is mostly useless :/) for assaults if I'm not otherwise occupied. That way at least the random assault group would be a little less random? I don't have uber-gear or anything, but I am generally not stupid.

Is that Creature Comforts based on the original film by Nick Park?

And that is an adorable kitty...

Not that I know of? It was sort of a reality show crossed with animation.

And I'll poke you next time! Eh, if there ever is a next time. :P

I think 'inspired by' would be more accurate.

The original was built by taking interviews and putting them to zoo animals (also claymation). It's very British, and while I enjoyed it, it wasn't exciting. It doesn't really have a plot.

I haven't been impressed with the ads.

The original Creature Conforts short was one of the funniest bits of claymation I've ever seen. I sat there tonight laughing my ass off. One of the funniest parts of the Aardman style of anumation was the British accents... but I thoguht the shorts were still very very funny.

Ugh, assaults with random people. Sucks cause it just goes to show you how braindead some of these people are.

Yeah. "Hey, let's not bring some way to invisible when we have to walk by bombs!" Grrr. :/

If you have a blm, (or rdm) you only have to walk by one, and you can usually just run by. (or if not, just kill it.) Have the blm peel off and take the wall north of the bridge, and everyone else can take the other walls, with no more aggro. If you're short on time, have the blm go back and wait for the rune instead of rejoining you.

A normal mix has 5-10 minutes free. Stock the party with monks and it goes even quicker.

We did it with RDMx2, BLMx2, MNK, NIN. One RDM and one BLM went up the ramp to work on that wall (idk if that is that the north one) while the rest of us pounded through all the others. We had just gotten the 10 minute warning when the last wall went down, and we never touched a Quqirn.

Of course, this was all ls peeps, not random idiots.

I won't even do Golden Salvage with random people, and I could solo that if it would let me.

Yes, that's about how we do it.

/grin I have a Golden Salvage static. My summoner friend gets neck gear to sell, I get gear.

The party member mix sucked, too. SAM, SAM, PUP, DRG. The PUP was okay, and I'm not sure if the DRG's pet was enough to make up for her slow weapon, but still. Needed more fast weapons! Even with my two Marches, the one win we had was way too close.

Something wrong there. I would have guessed that mix to be slow but workable (given you have an away team for the one wall).

That said, let me know if you need a monk. Buffed, I can do 4ish a strike. Sometimes 5 or 6. Not counting crits.

<_< I think I need to see if my cats will eat corn on the cob now. Tomorrow is washthecarshoppingputJhedin'sdesktogether day. Oh and possibly learn how to work with sculpties a bit more in Second Life. I say pick up a good book damnit, I'm about to go crash and read myself. xD

If the corn is buttered, I bet any cat would happily eat it!

Have fun with all your Second Life stuff! :)

I actually found Creature Comforts fairly entertaining. =o Though I generally enjoy when one thing is used in a situation that wasn't the original. =o

What puppet attachment did you get? =O And which zone did you get it in? It's prolly one of the ones I'm missing, I need to see if I can get access to that zone and dig it up. =o

I've already disowned/sold you for the Creature Comfort part, so I won't comment on that again. ;)

Eraser in the jungle. I THINK it was in Lowlands, but it might have been Uplands.

Yeah, I went to look it up after a bit. I need to get more chocographs. Valkurm keeps being a pain though. =/ The ones that you can find there are also the ENM ones.

For me, the Dunes are the second hardest (after the Desert). And yeah, I was told all these PUP parts are the ENM ones!

Creature comforts is definitely one of the "blah" shows for the summer season. And to think... CBS canceled Jericho for this TV crap. I ended up watching sports highlights for 4+ hours.

Yeah. There are a couple of amusing summer fill-in shows, but that's not one of them.

The cancellation of Jericho was very upsetting to me. Definitely one of the best things they had on. And to do it AFTER the season finale, what a slap in the face to fans. I'm still pissed about the whole "mid season break" crap... the death toll for almost every show that the networks have done it to.

That sucks about Creature Comforts. I've seen the British version and it was funny, though not hilarious, and thought the American version would at least try to compare. Oh well, it's not as if CBS is particularly strong when it comes to summer programing.

Yeah. At least some of the other stations have a couple semi-entertaining things on this summer...

Ha! Those are the two shows I was thinking of. America's Got Talent is sometimes okay, too (not as good as Dance though).

Eh, I usually take a pass on America's Got Talent. It's okay to listen to in the background, but most of the people on the show, including the judges, make me cringe.

That's about how I 'watch' all TV shows. :P Dance is the only exception, because wow, some of those people are so wonderfully amazing to watch. From the rerun hour last night, did you see the guy where that female judge asked 'Where did he come from?'? Gah, so amazing and beautiful!

Yes, I did and I totally agree with you about him. My jaw just dropped when I saw him dance.
